Life span of a toilet seat?

Wow, I thought it was just in my house. Im in a house full of girls as well & have this exact same issue. They keep breaking the rear mounts off. That and actually turning the toilet itself on the mount. I caught my oldest daughter after the fact and made her pay for the newest one. So far that has helped in it's survival over the last few months.

I've noticed women sit down with reckless abandon. Chairs, couches, toilets, etc.
Maybe why they think it's sooo important to have the toilet seat down all the time. I've never hear of a guy sitting into a toilet with the seat up.

going on 7 years here.
you must be doing something wong.

At least six years here and still seeming fine (non-padded)

Overweight wife, 2 teenage kids, frequent stays by 4 year old grand-daughter, and endless kids friends, and revolving door friend & family company

Guess I've been lucky.

I have however gone through several wax rings leaking where the bowl meets the floor
