Sure, weight in the tires, or forward mounted battery etc is useful. It's all about managing the weight you need to have, and in certain cases more mass is beneficial.

But in the battery you have a chance to take out a whole 3 pounds that sits right in the middle. Don't believe me, add another 3 pounds and see how it does. More's not better.

If your looking to save weight in the Nylint then the battery is the perfect place IMO.

No. Sub C is smaller then C sized cells.

No. The Nylint charger is designed to charge a lead acid battery not NIMH cells.

I got a chance to test the amp draw on a 1:6 a couple days ago. Wall crawling an upgraded chassis with slipping belts I saw 4.5 amps. On the rocks stalled up I can't see it being more than 10A.

It said in the manual the runtime and amp draw, if I remember correctly it was 5 amps? I think I can get away with 2500 man AA in this truck.

Ok, I have installed 12 AA in the bottom and have 1 run on it. I didn't time it but had run it a dozen times getting bored so the runtime for me is plenty long.


I run low gear only and a lighweight body as well. Batts are peaking above 18 volts and I will time the next run. Towards the end it will start cutting out indicating a low battery (maybe keeping me out of trouble also)
