I'm considering an AX10, and I wonder if anyone could tell me what would be best of a lipo (1450 2S) on the axle or a split-pack (6c 1500 2/3A) on the axle? For the lipo I need to move the servo to the left of the car, but with the split-pack I guess I can use the stock servomount?

I would go with the Lipo if you have a charger that can handle that battery chemsitry. However, I would bump up to a 3S if your ESC is good with that voltage. I have good luck with the Zippy 1500mAh 3S packs from Hobby City. They are a good price and fit nicely on the front axle:

Which zippy model number is that?

Lipo is the way to go."thumbsup" I run a thunder power 3cell 2000mAh lipo mounted on the upper links. This mounting position allows you to run a larger battery than you could on the front axel. You don't have to do any mods to get it to fit up there except a lexan tray zip tied to the links. You can see in the pics how nice it tucks up in there out of the way.

Which motor are you running? My sons was running a 10 cell saddle and a 7t puller and it battery's didn't like the puller. He is now running 3 cell lipo with a Tekin FX R with lipo cut off. I'm still running a 10 with a 55t motor with a Tekin and it runs great. Tekin is comming out with new programing 3 cell lipos to slow the down more. Where is hobby king? Matt

Maxamps site has a lipo saddle pack you can check out, if you already bought the axel mounts the lipo saddle might be a good choice. Ive been looking to upgrade to lipo myself, still looking for a decent charger for a decent price.

If you're looking to get by for relatively cheap you can always get a dc only charger for about 50 bucks from Dynamite, then get a separate balancer like a Blinky or Common Sense makes one I think for about 25 or 30 bucks. A little cheaper than something like a Hyperion, but more limited as it'd only be good for lipo charging/balancing.

i have both my plans are to be all lipo will be going with the waterproof maxamp packs i undecided on 2s or 3s 1340 mah 25c

Thanks for all your answers. I guess I'll have to go for a 2s lipo, as I will buy the Rooster crawler/fifty-five package. Or is the Sidewinder a better esc?

I ordered my charger from here: www.rchelicoptershop.net. It charges lipos, A123, nihm, nicad, lead - I use it to charge 14 nihm cells I use for my boat.

My 10 cell saddle pack died today. I would recommend a Lipo setup from the begining. Matt

Drop a little more coin and get a Tekin FX-R. It will handle a 3 cell lipo and has an awesome drag brake. The Rooster has been known to glitch."thumbsup"
