Hi everybody. I am getting some Maxx axles made and they end up being about 17" end-end. I was wanting a near squarish footprint so the wheel base would be almost as long as the axles are wide (but not longer). I was going to go with Punisher shafts at first, but I think the longest ones are still too short mainly horizontal width. Are there any other center driveshafts out there that approach the 8~12" length or so?

You would have to customize some Revo or Maxx shafts to extend them. All you need to do is put multiple shafts together to make one full driveshaft. But as it sounds you are making a Maxx with a 17 inch wheelbase. In my Maxx that has around the same wheel base I have one full Revo dirveshaft and it works fine and is plenty long enough.

I actually want the width to be 15" not 17", but that's good then if nothing special is needed. Is it a 5mm drive shaft that the Maxx diffs accept? How long is a Revo center shaft? I was thinking I would need the 7.55" maximum Punisher shaft.

i made my maxx a beast. i went with almost 24" wheelbase. i simply went to lowes and bought some sched. 40 pvc pipe for 98 cents. 5 foot of it. i took the long shafts that you use for the front and rear drive shafts and screwed them into the pvc with two screws on each and it holds great. hope this helped. you can cut it how ever long necesary.

Okay, so it's sound like 15" wheelbase isn't the limit for a shafty. (Wasnt this always argued as an advantage for a Clod? I've not heard of many Clods longer than 16" and none longer than 18".)

Well I'm running my compitition Maxx build at a 19 inch wheel base and have extended Revo driveshafts that work awesome.
