Every now and then the local Radio Shack calls and says it has some returns I can have. So I get a call last week saying they have a bunch of stuff for me to pickup. So I headed on down to see what toys the kids are going to get. The last thing to be added to my cart was a BIG suprise it was a Kyosho Lazer 2000, W/radio, 3 batteres, charger, new XTM sportman esc and some tools. The manager said it was sitting in the back corner for the last few years and did not know if it was any good. The only thing I saw wrong with it is the rear shock tower is broken and the rear dog bones were not in place.

Cool score.
Related story....
Back when Tamiya released the TA-01 chassis, me and my 2 roommates and a couple other friends raided the local hobby shop and bought every one they had. One friend missed out, but bought a Calsonic Skyline based on the Lazer chassis instead. That thing would break suspension arms by practically just looking at it. He must've went through 3 front arms within a week. The hobby shop had them in stock, that oughta tell you something. I think it ended up in the corner too after just a few months.

Had something like that happen to me at salvation army. I went to donate some stuff, and it turns out this guy I knew worked there. So he let me help haul my stuff into the holding area. I see what looks like a r/c car sitting on a pile of unidentifiable junk, walk over pick it up, and yep, it's an r/c car, not just a cheap junky one, it's a clodbuster, painted with that "hammered paint". He says that I can have it, it was missing some of the electronics so they couldn't sell it and would toss it otherwise. Makes me wonder what else gets tossed.

how did radio shack come to have a kyosho in it?

My best guess is that someone new to RC got it broke it and took it in to get fixed and never came back. So it went to the back to collect dust till it came home with me.
