looking for cheap entry into drift cars..

something to get a taste that may take upgrades.

any suggestions?

Go to rcmart, they have cheap knock off kits for under $100. You will need electronics though

Turnigy parts support is beyond terrible. If you break the car you might as well get a new one because you won't find parts, at least from what I've seen

would 3racing Sakura's be good? Whats diff between the d3 and d4?

I Assume AWD is better than RWD aswell

The d4 is the newer version. I wouldn't say either is better, some people just prefer to drift rwd because it's more scale

If you go awd I would suggest running a 50/50 car which means the front and rear wheels spin at the same speed. Then as you get more comfortable, cs the car. Cs just means the rear wheels spin faster than the front.

Went from a sprint 2 to a ms01d pro and i can say the sprint 2 is a wonderful entry level car. Not sure what the big fuss is about counter steer and one ways other than tight track situations.

I think I might look into the sakura's

prob AWD. what or will I need to change for drtiftin on pavement?

Unfortunately don't have much pavement experience but i can tell you that the fully optioned aluminum/ carbon cars on ebay for $200 are clones so stick to the plastic kit and upgrade where you see fit.
