I've narrowed it down to these 3....

Fujifilm FinePix S700BK 7-Megapixel Digital Camera

Canon PowerShot SX100 IS 8-Megapixel Digital Camera

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3K 7.2-Megapixel Digital Camera

Any of you guys have an opinion on these. Looking for a good quality camera for a decent price. These range from $210-$260.

Well so far I'm down to these two......

Fujifilm FinePix S700BK 7-Megapixel Digital Camera

Canon PowerShot SX100 IS 8-Megapixel Digital Camera

I should also mention I'm a beginner in this photography stuff.

I have the Panasonic Lumix and it takes good pictures and is probably a bit cheaper than the others.

I've got a Sony DSC H-2 and love it 8)

I'm trying to stay under $300 though... Looking to stay in the $250 range. I know you get what you pay for but I've been using a Kodak 3.1 mp camera I've had for about 5-6 years now so just about anything is going to be an upgrade.

I have the Cannon Powershot SD750 It is a GREAT camera. Awesome close shots good far away shots, easy to navigate just overall great camera.

Actually this one is the most expensive of the three...
How is it with close ups?
Really? Maybe it has gone up.
Here is a close up shot with that camera:

Here is a close shot with my PowerShot S5 IS, the canon you picked are based on the IS. the IS just has a little more zoom (12x) and some other shooting modes on it.

Sounds like you have your mind set on those two. But if your open to suggestions the Kodak EasyShare Z885 (8.1 Megapixel, 5x Optical Zoom, 5x Digital Zoom) is under $200 and I have seen good reviews. Hoping to make it my next purchase.

I help a guy who makes the tubes as a side business http://www.pyrogear.net/ in exchange I get racks as payment. What is in the pic is all 1.5" class C, stuff any one can buy, for the BIG stuff my buddy has the license to do, and big I mean 4" and 5".

Bubba069 those are some nice shots... I'll have to look into that one. By the way that's a sick setup right there. How long did it take to set them all off? Now I'm down to these......
Canon PowerShot SX100 IS 8-Megapixel Digital Camera
Canon Powershot S5 (if I decide to up my allowance)
Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3K 7.2-Megapixel Digital Camera
Fuji S700
So I'm worse off then when I started....
JeremyH that's a nice closeup... makes that camera back on the list.
I don't want a sony because I already have a bunch of SD card and sony only uses there own card.

The SX100 is a budget S5 IS, I think that you would be happy with either one.

As for the fireworks, the whole show lasted 6 minutes. First was the fountain cakes, then the class C shells, then the class B fountains, then the class B shells. Oddly enough I took the video with the S5 :)

NICE....Nothing beats the Class B 1.3 stuff. We went through about 200 3" and 4" shells this year on the 4th. E Firing huh?
