I'm a n00b too. Bought the green star last week. No regrets. So far I have bought 3 sets of beadlock wheels with newish tires for about $20 for each set of 4. I also bought 4, yes 4, 8 cell saddle packs 1500mah 2/3A Elite nimh cells for $50 shipped (buying these new from cheap battery packs.com are $32 EACH). SO yes, there really ARE really good deals, even for noobs.
There are also some great rtr used trucks with tons of upgrades for pretty cheap. Basic radios run for 10 - 20 bucks.
I don't know if I broke rules in this post tellig how much stuff goes for, but if I did, you can delete my post.
