I have an Axial SCX-10 I bought 7 years ago. Only mods electrically are a Futaba FHSS T3PRKA controller and R203GF receiver I bought as a pair when the "factory" receiver quick working. Last week I lost the bind between the controller and receiver. I have tried repeatedly to re-link them going so far as to unplug everything, including the motor and ESC, and reconnecting with no results. I did get a bind once after holding the link button down for what seemed like an eternity. Light turned green, steering worked, but as soon as I gave it throttle lost it again and went back to intermittent flashing. Fresh batteries in controller. Venom 4000 20c 7.4v 2-cell that's only 7-8 months old. Granted the controller and receiver are about 6 years old but could the receiver be "worn out"? Do I need to get another one or is there something else I can try? I'm not out everyday with this thing. it's more of a hobby than anything. Just have a lot of fun finding new places to "discover". Shortened wheel base with Jeep Wrangler body, aluminum 4 links, and other mild mods. Nothing drastic yet, but do have a wish list made. Never "real" enough. LOL

Did you calibrate the ESC new after rebind? Maybe this will Solve the prob.

No I did not. I know I've read something about re-calibrating but I'll look up how and try it. This is why I don't have a fancy controller, ESC, etc. Lol. I'm not up on all the ins and outs. Funny, for as long as I've been doing RC I should know more than I do. I spend more time driving and cleaning and fixing up/improving my rig than I do looking at better advances in the electronics. But I'll look up how to do that and try it and let you know. Thank you for the advice.

Ok, sorry been working. Plugged everything back in, fresh charge on battery & new AAs in controller. Was able to calibrate ESC without a proper bind with receiver. Interesting, didn't think that would have been possible. Still no control. Tried, again, to link transmitter to receiver. No go. Did notice that ESC heat sink fins were quite warm to the touch while doing all this. Is that normal? I've never noticed it before because I've never had to mess with it before. I know it will get hot while using, especially for long periods of time. Again, maybe this is normal. But anyway, I did get proper light/tone sequences while calibrating ESC. Again this is the stock Axial AE-2. Transmitter is Futaba FHSS T3PRKA and receiver is R203GF. Now thinking receiver is probably toast. If anyone has any other ideas let me know but looks like I'll be ordering a new receiver on payday.
