I was hesitant to do another yeti thread until I had ran one for a while.
now it's ready for the interwebs.

I really like the platform. it's been very reliable, not a single mechanical failure.
mostly thanks to the stevec6r bulletproof yeti thread and some front suspension tuning.
I was most worried about the massive amount of front axle shaft breakages. my rig still
has the rtr dogbones and iver never broken or bent one. limiting straps and 28 positive camber
completely eliminated any binding of the dogbones.

I went with the centered currie axle from vanquish. I had hoped to get the SSD diamond axle but they were out of stock
longer than I was patient. the currie axle is ridiculously well made and the rear axle shafts that come
with the centered version are HUGE compared to the stock bits
my only gripe is that for $175 they could get their anodizing consistant.. satin truss and pumpkin with gloss tubes is kind of a flop.
not a big one, just wish it was all the same.(i'm not alone)

I have been following a few of the yeti-trophy truck builds here and wanted to do something similar, but I needed it to be easily swapped back to full crawler mode so a tires swap, and removing the rear body posts should be all I need to do.
I picked up a set of the vanquish
twin hammers trailing arms and made some custom upper links to shorten the wheelbase by about an inch to better fit short course truck bodies.
this also makes the yeti nearly the same wheelbase as the wraith which definitely helped crawling by being able to break over obsicals easier where the long wheelbase and the
big flat belly pan would have stopped me.

future plans are to get the vanquish sway bar, and a custom front cumper made. I also want to see about getting sharper turn radius. there's a few threads about steering and they all just reccomend
upgrading the stock parts. great for durability and tolerances but none of the options i've seen ACTUALLY improve steering.

I had originally got the jconcepts bajr body but it wouldn't fit over the upper cage. fits great if you were to run without the cage. if anyone wants it :)
my LHS just happened to have the traxxas dakar body in stock so I snagged it rather than waiting for the proline bronco sct to arrive.

2 tone metallic gunmetal and white. I need to fine a suitable 2.2 wheel that has zero offset. id like to make it 2.2 legal as the sct tires are not.
