I just got a SCX-10 honcho with the RC4WD tracks on it and a mamba max pro ESC and there is a castle creation cc bec linked to it the red wire is disconnected. It also has a Novak brushless assault motor. When I connect the 2c LIPO to it the steering servo turns on and starts immediately getting hot with no ESC turned on the steering works. I have to power on the ESC to get the motor to work. Is this some thing that is supposed to happen. I have never used an external cc bec. If I took out the cc bec would the one in the mamba max pro work for what I am using it for or is this rig wired up all wrong I picked it up off eBay. Any help would be great appreciated.

I make my own adapters, but holmes hobbies also makes a Y adapter to run the servo off the BEC and still have use of the power switch. I, myself like using the power switch. Alot of fellow crawlers would suggest you remove the switch. It's all preference. I like the Y adapter because the servo does not come on till i hit the switch of the ESC. And you can still use the internal BEC of the ESC for other things. (In other words you dont have to remove the Red wire)

Is there a way to reset the ESC back to stock settings when I drive the rig fwd is decent but reverse barely works. I have a MAC so if I have to use the computer it could take some time I would have to find someone with one to help me.

RPP hobbies $21.21. Well worth the buy, will work on any CC ESC, CC BEC, Axial ESC, and not sure, but possibility HH ESC.

The link or field link will adjust the settings. Most of the main functions can be adjusted without it though. Download the instructions off castles site and do the stick programing.

Get the link. With the link and a pc ( not Mac) you can also adjust the bec voltage. I run Savox and with the MMP I would get major heat issues and glitching. The bec solved that.
If you don't want to cut the red wire from your esc, buy a 3" extender, remove the red wire.
