Man orders TV, Gets a rifle instead

So you came to the 4th largest city in the country and didn't like it because it was a big city? :ror:

BTW, the suburbs are boring and sterile (no matter what big city we are talking about).....you couldn't pay me to live out there.

No, the part of town my team was in was a run down ghetto looking shit hole, it was close to the airport where our work was located. The morning that we were leaving, I woke up to 2 " of water in my hotel room, apparently it rained heavily the night before, all of the pool furniture was washed up against the buildings, the parking lot ( and streets) had 6" of standing water everywhere. Every place we went to eat looked like a mexican slum, I've seen nicer streets in Tijuana.

I'd hope that your entire town isn't like that, but I can only base an opinion of what I was exposed to. Baltimore is the same way, there are some nice areas and the Inner Harbor tourist areas are nice, but the 80% of the town that most people will never see looks like a 3rd world shit hole.

We have several airports, but I am pretty sure you are talking about Hobby (the Southwest airport). Yeah, that is a shitty part of town. Mexican Slum.....yep, that pretty much describes that part of town.

Next time you are here, dont stay in a shithole hotel in the ghetto..."thumbsup"

BTW, so you know, my first experience with this city had me living out of a hotel all week away from my family. I hated it here and didnt want to move back....but I couldnt pass up doubling my salary.

Seriously, there are parts of this city that are really nice and there is always a LOT of things to do. It has really grown on me. It has also opened up my appreciation for big cities now. I visited Vancouver last year and had a blast! I walked or rode the bus/train everywhere (even through the ghetto to meet up with some of the locals for a bit of crawling) and had a great time.

Hobby, that was it! "thumbsup"

I went to Vancouver plenty of times when I lived in Seattle, I loved that town (Vancouver). It was the only city I ever felt like I could live in. It was clean, public transportation was top notch, thriving night life, culture, drop dead gorgeous women everywhere, they were fairly friendly towards us 'mer-icans.

Sorry for the derail- I'll get it back on track. Does anyone know which TV was originally ordered? I'll try to order one of those and hope for the best!

Yeah, for the most part the city was great. Vonclod showed me a few ares of town that were a little bit more rough, but not too bad. I could live there....but I doubt my wallet would like it. :ror:
