I am not getting any creep out of the high power 3r winch. And it seems to hold well enough.



Well I got the toyzuki mount installed. A little overkill but it's not going anywhere. LOL

Center of chassis is at cab divider. So the motor only sits 2" behind true center. Hardly more than a standard motor set up.

Yea the stuby is pretty impressive for the size. It creeps well. And it's rated at 2000 kv. But i swear it's faster. I have the revolver s and it seems faster than that. Not as much torque, but plenty. I will do a little vid of it shortly.

Just to show the motor. The buggy is far from finished but it does move along at least.

Been following this build for a while now, really coming together nicely and looks great. I've always wanted to build a lightweight 1seater in 1:1.

Couple questions for you: what gage did you use for your servo mounts? Looks like 16 but wondered if you were getting away with something lighter?

Also are you planning on sharing the mod to the hr shocks?

Good news on the hr chocks. They changed the design. The o rings and bushing are different. They are not too awfully bad stock. But i removed one o ring out of the bottom and am not running oil at this time Because of my set up. if I need more dampening I will probably just install the second o ring. But not too bad! Also you have to remember that the shaft is huge. So it's surprisingly smooth for such a large shaft.

On the stubby. With 20/80 gearing it seemed to crawl pretty well. Speed good. But it took more throttle to get over obstacles than I like. Comparable to a pro 4 or roc412.

Changed to 20/87 gearing. And it's a lot better. More control and I could easily do a comp on 2s. This motor seems fast for only being rated at 2000kv?

On 4s it still had good low end control and would easily launch my 5.5lb buggy through the air. Plenty of power to break parts.

So really happy with the stubby. I realize now the standard revolver s is overkill by a Longshot except with +7 lb rigs.

I hate wireing. My least favorite job. Decased and waterproofed the mamba max pro and shortened all the wires. Managed to stick the mmp on the skid right next to the tranny. Made a battery box/foot compartment right above the front links. Can fit up to a 18004s lipo. I just wanted the option.

Everything is about as low as possible. Belly I got down to 2.25" and an overall height of 7.5" once I put bump stops on the shocks it may raise it just slightly.

Anyways slowly making progress.

Not sure if the tires are going to hook up. If they work well then yes I am cutting lugs as well as cut n shut.

I had the same exact plan for these tires but I have learned from my past mistakes. First figure out if they work, THEN modify/trim/cut n shut.

For me I had the silvers and golds and they just didn't work how I wanted so I sold them off. Running the new 2.2 falkens at the moment and really like them.

I ran cut Golds at ECSC this past year. They hooked up in the wet conditions fine but they were a touch too short, paired with the belly dragger setup. I have since swapped to Pits and the truck works alot better.

A little update. Got the hacked gt3b programmed to run my front and rear winches independantly, and 4ws, lights.

Works pretty good. Can sinch down axles easily to prevent torque twist and even to carry a tire if need be. Or release axles for 4" of belly clearance and crazy articulation. so I am excited to get this thing out on the rocks!

Managed to really condense all my wireing (all temporary ) to a small area around the tranny.

Everything is tight on clearances. Lot of thought went into making everything work. But its working.

Definitely the lowest center of gravity scale rig I have ever built. And it's a good thing. Because outside treat to outside tread is only 10 5/8 inch. On articulation the axles stay right in the center, no swinging. Really happy with the fr and r 3 link.

Went to 10wt oil in the shocks and it really made a difference. Easily flexes, and axles fall easy. But enough dampening to keep it stable even without use of the winches.

The only thing that keeps me checking into RCC these days is THIS build, and all the SBG guys' 1.9 Cruiser builds.
