diaz was a no show for some media stuff 2 times this week sooooo, dana white called carlos condit to replace him , i think this is a much better fight for gsp than diaz , and ufc signed overeem to fight lesnar on dec. 30 , WOW , that should be good 2 , i just love watching mma , its way better than boxing , btw i really think anderson silva's fights must be fixed , just my 2cents

I had the thought that 8 of 9 Brazilians won last weekend was kind of fixed, but hey, you never really know. It's a big show, after all.

(I'm not 100% sure is was 8 out of 9, it might have been all of em!)

Leszer will be looking for vengeance me thinks. Cause if I'm not mistaken, he got whooped last time. I can never remember these fights at all!

dont forget bellator on sat the 10nth on mtv2 and sat strikeforce heavyweight finals on show time, i say josh barrnet wins it all , strkeforce is getting really good as of late

the Diaz brothers always show their true colors, they are punk ass wanna be gangbangers. It will be interesting to see how healthy Lesnar is.

Wait, they thought that Nick Diaz was a contender to the title?????? Wow! I have always liked Diaz, but not as an equal to GSP.....
Lesnar v Overrem will be a one sided knee fest to Lesnars messed up middle section.

Condit is a much better opponent than Diaz. I still b elieve GSp outlclasses him though.

As far as Anderson Silva goes... He just mind fncks his opponent/ Dropping his hands, sticking his chin out, dancing around. And then POP! Out comes a jab that catches them of guard and they are on their butts. Next thing you kow they are like deer in headlights. Ashamed that a jab knocked them down.

Remember the Forrestt fight. He straight RAN out of the octagon after Anderson mind oofed him.

In all honesty, if Dana wants to make big money, he needs to force Anderson up to 205 and have him chase the light heavy belt, because quite frankly, GSP will never go up in weight to fight Anderson. GSP is smarter than that, and doesn't want to lose face.

I think if Dana forces Silva up he better damn well force GSP up. Silva has fought in 205 successfully, but prefers 185.

GSP is scared to leave 170...says a lot about him.

GSP is scared. All he does is lay & pray on guys anyways.

And although i'm sure BJ can handle diaz easily, I don't think he should be fighting at welterweight. He's too small for the division.

All he does is lay and prey:shock::roll:

Dude, are you serious:shock:...he is by far the best pound for pound fighter in the industry-hands down!...he works the hardest and has beat the best of the best and all he does is lay and prey:roll:

Go back and watch his last five fights.he can go stand up or take you down with ease.MMA is not boxing dude, its MMA.

gsp went 5 rounds and didnt really do much to hardy, condit ko"d hardy in less than one , condit is a good threat to gsp , dont get me wrong i like gsp but i think condit is better on his feet than gsp , we will see it when the horn sounds!!!!!!!!

When was the last time he finished a fight? 4 of the last 5 were decisions.

BJ Penn? Corner threw in the towel after 4 rounds.

The last time he finished a guy by referee stoppage was Matt Serra in 2008 and Matt hughes by armbar in 2007. We're more than hlaf way done with 2011 already.

GSP always wins by decisions, then tells his fans "sorry I tried to finish huim, BUT... I got poked in the eye... I pulled my groin and Greg Jackson told me to hit him with it... I tried to submit him, but he did not want to tap...

He is talented and works harder than 99% of the guys out there, but he's boring to watch. Condit is more fun to watch because he does finish fights.

Pound for pound, it's Anderson Silva, Jose Aldo, and Jon Jones. GSP is probably 4th.

NAd I kow it's MMA. Where did i even mention boxing? I want to see fighters get knocked out or tapped out. Leave the wins by decision for boxing.

very true , gsp moves fast but he is boring and hasnt finished anything in a while

GSP is naturally gifted athelete, and works had to have one of the best skill sets in MMA.

His problem is that he does not fight to win. He fights to not lose. He takes no chances, and backs out when he feels he is at risk. After serra TKO'd him in their first match, GSP no longer fought to win.

The welterweight & middleweight divisions ust aren't as stacked with talent like the other divisions. There is a huge gap in talent between the champion and the challengers. If jon Jones smashes rampage like he probably will (don;'t take me wrong Rampage is one of my faves) then the light-heay division will soon follow. The difference is there are many good ftop contenders who make it a fun division to watch.

Let me ask you this....a win is a win,correct?..when you step into the octagon, your first initial thought isn't...YO I GOT TO KO HIM...it's to win and he's not scared or running,he's using his head, his talent!

When he faught hardy, before the fight hardy talked soooo much shit that he was just going to knock him out so what did GSP do...laughed and said,we'll see if he can even get to my chin,i'm going to do what ever i want to him whenever i want...AND HE DID JUST THAT!..he man handled hardy plan and simple!

Then when he faught josh koshchek, josh talked so much shit as well saying that he was a all pro wrestler and was going to take GSP down with ease..so what was GSP's response?..he said,we'll see who will take who down the most?he beat josh at his own game!

Yes we ALL want to see the ko,but it's not all about just getting into the octagon and booom,ko the 1st round, that is cool to see but also gets boring at times.you wanna see what talent they got, what skills, how they been training for the fight,no one trains to just ko people out!some have heavy hands and are gifted that way(hardy for example) but your not just gunna run into the center of the octagon and start trading punches with someone who is a known ko hitter, would you?..i dout it!

All valid points. A win is a win.

Hardy did talk trash. GSP outclassed him from start to finish. GSP tried and tried but could not get Hardy to tap. So either Hardy is a tough ass SOB, or GSP doesn't have the technique to finish the kimura.

Kos talked slot of trash as well. GSP out classed him everywhere. He basically threw jabs all day and Kos couldn't land a punch, but it was apparent that GSP did not want to get involved in an exchange.

Not once in any of my previous posts have I said GSP is sh!tty. I remark on how talented his and what not. Too me, he's a boring ass champion. I'd rather watch free preliminary fights than pay $59.99 to watch 5 rounds of "playing it smart."

The reason why the prelims are entertaining is because the up and comers are looking to put on a show, and make a name for themselves. They want to get to where GSP is. If GSP goes out and gets KO'd because he was trading punches with Condit, no one is gonna like him any less. In fact he'll probably gain more fans for the fact that he went down swinging.

GSP has won the belt, lost it, won it again, and successfully defended it many times. What does he need to prove? The fans deserve an entertaining fight because at the end of the day, we put the food on his table. If he lost the belt, no big deal. If he is as good as we all know he is, he'd win it back.

Look at Anderson Silva. He schools everyone. And the one fight he was getting worked for 4 rounds by Chael Sonnen. In the fifth round I'm screaming at the big screen telling Chael not to get sloppy. And BAM! He taps to an arm bar. If Silva didn't have enough of my respect, he earned even more. Because he was in severe risk of losing his belt and still pulled out the W.

I hope to to see GSP push 4 rounds of him "playing it smart" and gets caught and lose his belt. Then it'll motivate him to finish. Because when you think about it, the more rounds he puts in, the higher his risk of losing actually becomes. Anderson received more damage in the one first with Chael, than he did in all his other fights combined. And that's because he finishes fights early.

You must be a hardcore GSP fan.

You wrote this about Silva in the Okami vs. Silva thread:

To be honest, silva doesn't impress me!...no disrespect to him or the middleweight class but name one really well rounded fighter that he's faught recently?..okami:shock:..he is way overated and silva runs around the ring like a retard and waits to strike which hey works for him but that's not strategy, thats being a coward!..if he's so baddass then step up and add a few pounds to the real class, light heavyweight where all the real deal fighters are.try that shit against jones or rua and watch his a$$ go to sleep or shed a few pounds to fight GSP?he keeps hanging around that class cause there's no comp for him.he needs to make some major moves here already.

No i'm not a HUGE GSP fan but yes i do like him.

My comment was towards when scorpion said: GSP lays and prays.

As far as silva, yes i don't think silva is as bad as people say he is?(my opinion)
He has faught some good fighters but no one serious enough to give him a true challenge!..some of his opponents have been a walk thru,a joke, fighters i thought had no bussiness up against him.

GSP on the other hand has faught some of the best fighters in his weight class...BJ penn, hardy, matt huges etc.. And has proved that he is a serious fighter and pound for pound one of the best.as far as him not finishing fights lately, well what can you say?doesn't mean that he's not a serious threat to anyone who steps into the octagon with him, maybe his time is coming to an end?only time will tell?

You missed the point, if GSP runs and avoids getting hit you call it skills and he is in to win at all cost. If Silva does the same, he is a coward?
