More traction / Tire & Rim Modifications

I am looking to get more traction on smoother surfaces. What would be the best way to do it? I thought about cutting the tires but not real sure how to cut them. ALso would it be better to turn the tires backwards? If you some pics of the tires cut then post them up so I can see how to do it. THanks. :mrgreen:

I've been searching for the same info. I did drill holes in my rims to allow air to enter and exit quicker when the tire moves on rocks. Didnt notice a huge different. I'm looking to sipe the tires next. Just not sure what a good tool to cut the knobs off would be.

I plan on using my dremel tool. I think that will be the easist and quickest way but just not sure where to cut.

:twisted: use your imagination ; the more you remove the more the tire will flex... start small and remove from there... start with one tire by removing a little.. test it.. then if needed remove some more... so on and so forth... i ended up using the curved scissors from walgreens (girly section).... look around and come up with a design... the more original you are the cooler it will be... some of us have been cutting some of the lugs off and glueing them onto the side of the tire for more added side bite... they have CA glue just for Rubber, see you Local Hobby Shop... i thought about the dremmely but sometimes it will melt before it will cut on plastic. Or do a combo of the two. and i definately don't want any tearing.

I like the curved scissor idea. Actually i think i might still have some curved scissors for lexan for my T3 and Tmaxx bodies. I bet that would be perfect....

I'd sipe them(cut small slits into the tread but don't remove anything) before you go hacking them apart.
