Mossberg 500 Tactical (my new toy)

My 1st line defense (when Im a cuddled up goin nite nite) is my Springfield XD .45 Tactical loaded with 14 rounds of Hornady XTP 250 grain HP +P's. VERY big hole. VERY low velocity.

But the Benelli Super Nova Tactical also lives outside of the safe...you know...for zombies & tweekers & bigfoot n stuff.

Here is my Tweaker plinker.

Winchester 1300 defender with heat shield, side saddle, pistol grip, and tactical forend"thumbsup" Not likely to be the gun to save my life inside my home. That's what the LC9 is for. This is more for shooting the tweakers in the front yard:mrgreen:

Yea im more worried about crackheads and rouges, i guess thats what yall are callin tweakers? drugs are bad here, thats what the gun is for. I really just want to use this for recreation, dont want have to use it on some bad people.

Yep. Same thing to me. "thumbsup"

I would hate to have to kill someone in my yard, but I also hate getting stuff stolen.
Meth is the biggest problem around here. The shit people will do and steal, just for the next fix:roll:

Impossible to beat a Mossberg for the price. As for using it for home defense. It's certainly not a bad choice. Isn't for me. Don't like the idea of using buck shot in my house, can't POSSIBLY know where all those pellets are going to go. Have multiple bedrooms with little ones sleeping? Pets roaming around the house? Just things to think about to determine what would work the best in the layout of your home.

The pattern of 00 buckshot stays very tight at the short distances you would see in a home defense situation. A smaller lighter weight piece of shot will not usually travel through walls and such as far as a heavier bullet from a handgun.

This test was done from 20', notice the tight pattern. Much more effective than any handgun service caliber.
