hello i am currently waiting to receive my NIB scorpion 1:18

my first mod is to hopefully put larger tires on my 1:18. what is the most common type of tires/rims used to modify these crawlers?

sorry guys - bit of a newb here - i was looking around on ebay i'm just not sure what size or type i should purchase.

will T-MAXX rims/tires be able to work? what would you recommend?

thanks.

sweet! another guy from the houston area! you know where dayton is?

back on topic though, don't use tmaxx tires, way too big. the most popular are 2.2 masher 2000's or 2.2 moabs on 2.2 rims. i don't know how to adapt them to the nylint axles but i'm sure someone else on here can help you out. also, me and one or two other people on here have used the tires from the tyco rebound, they're a little taller and about twice as wide and super soft, but still way smaller and not near as good as the aforementioned 2.2's.

thanks for the information!

Hey Texx - Bubba R/C? is that a brand? where can I find those rims/tires that you have? that's a sweeeeet scorpion!

turbotrauma Yes, it is a brand, I have to buy 2/3 of these BUBBA (5.00 each) in a store of toys worn. I have to adapt the rims and the tires of the BUBBA on my NYLINT with the adaptor of the wheels of the NYLINT. I find them of a good size for 1:18
they are perfect like replacement, there is less of danger to break some parts ...............
and they are tires very soft.

SIZE ? = (BUBBA' S/BIG BEAST 4WD 110/60/WH 52) There are models which have a side of the rim smaller than the other, and of other which have the 2 sides similar .....They are smaller than the 2.2 I believe

BUBBA...SALE AT (( RADIO SHACK ...

these were stampede hexs and wheels it was for some newbright axels but
same proccess nylint axels

well any way here is what i did with mine i took some stock pede 12 mm hexs and i got a peice of hex stock same diameter as the shaft that sticks out the axel heat up the peice of hex stock
wheeladapter002.jpg

and force it through the stock 12mm hexs from the stampede,
wheeladapter003.jpg

clean up the hexs a bit
wheeladapter004.jpg

then place them on the axel shaft
wheeladapter006.jpg

put the 2.2 wheel on to the hex and screw on using the stock screw(be sure to use a washer )
wheeladapter007.jpg

wheeladapter008.jpg

doing this you could run almost any rim using the 12mm hex drive mostly are 2.2 then you can chose what tires you want i would use either moabs, or mashers2000

hope this helps

ok guys i found some masher 2000 with 12mm hex - is this what i need? it sounds like it. thanks everyone. thanks usa1man!

I will be trying something new very soon for my 1/18. Something I haven't seen done before. and something that will not permanently alter the stock wheel center. I know this post is useless with out pics, but I will tell you that it involves 1/8 buggy wheels.
