I need a brushed motor recommendation for a heavy Boom Racing D90 scaler (same transmission, t-case and axle gear ratios as the Gelande 2):

Weight (incl. battery): 13.5 lbs
Current gearing: 11/87 (48p)
Voltage: 3S
ESC: Tekin FXR
Tires: 1.9" x 4.19"
Operating conditions: Trail/Recon G6

I am currently running a Traxxas 550 21T with 11/87 gearing which is the smallest pinion I can go with this setup:

- The speed is ok;
- I need more torque; and
- Lower running temperature as this setup runs hotter than I like them to (nothing close to where damage can occur).

I already tried the following RC4WD 540 brushed motors with no improvement compared to my current setup: 35T, 45T and 55T.

Thank you

Holmes 550 motor in 21T if you are happy with the speed of your current setup. Torquemaster 550 would be the preferred option.

If that still doesn't get the performance you are after, then it is time for brushless.
