So thought I would start a thread to keep track of what I do to my trx4. Gonna be a slow build. I blew out my knee and ripped hamstring off the bone March 14th 2020 which was days before the world shut down to covid. Since I was now crippled for a while (2 surgeries and countless hours of PT) and my boys were doing school from why not get some crawlers!!! Picked up the trx4 Blazer and a sport for my 8 year old.

Made a lil course with a pallet and a few bundles of wood stakes in anticipation of the arrival...

The blazer came and oh boy!

Took the crawlers to a spot called Flanagan and had a blast! The boys sport was schooling me! Having a lower center of gravity real helped him. Parts were ordered after lol.

Some parts came in for the blazer to even the odds! SSD outer portal brass

Some proline hyrax for some extra grip on the rocks

SSD outer portals, treal +3 hex, China rip off injora wheels and proline hyrax. Stock vs upgraded. The weight should help!

All mounted up and looking fresh!

Stump crawling

Took the blazer to a local spot to test it out. The low extra weight and tires really helped this beast crawl! Very pleased with the mods. Didn’t take many pics. Next outing I’ll get more!

Made it out for a crawl at good old Flanagan. Got to put the mods to the test and I’m pleased with the results. Need some brass on the rear to even it out. And the stock servo is finally showing signs of needing to be dumped. Always fun to get out and crawl!!

Installed some SSD outer portal cover brass in the rear. And flipped rear bumper mount to get some departure angle. Had to trim the crap out of the body. Body was cracked so not a biggie. Took it out to Flanagan this am and the added departure angle was very helpful. Still like the og body vs the cut.

Talk about trimming the body. I swapped the front and rear bumper mounts and flipped them. Had to trim the body just under the headlights. But the approach and departure angle were amazing.

Vanquish
The front has been modified slightly.

Is that the same truck you put the 78 pickup and rear cage on that you post in the “what did you do...” love that setup! Gonna order up body and cage I think, pretty trick how you mounted the cage! I need some tips on how and what you used. I’m new to this crawler stuff, came from slash’s and track trucks. I am thoroughly addicted lol.

Yes it’s the same body. The magnet mount in the front I got from eBay. I mounted it straight to the cross member that holds the old body mount. The rear hinge is spare parts. I used the bumper mount holes in the frame. The part on the rear cage is a set of turnbuckle ends. I drilled the back half cage and screwed them on. Also added a little epoxy to strengthen them.

That hinge system is awesome!

How do you have the battery supported in between the rails? I seen it in that picture and it got me thinking.

Looks clean dude. I really like it. The blazer body is dope, but I love pickups with the rear cage.
