I saw this area when I was driving to the Trout Ponds. It's at the top of the hill before you drop into the School and the Baldy Village area. Parking is in the dirt pull out on the right, where the wood sign for the Baldy Lodge is. Here is the map of how to get there
This map has directions for the 210 Freeway from the East and West. You can also take the 10 and get off on Mountain or Euclid.

The area is covered in heavily exposed granite with some time of white rock layered in. The white rock allows the granite to break off in huge pieces that have rough, flat sides. The rocks are HUGE and GRIPPY. My servo is not strong enough to turn my comp claws most of the time (it's cheap).
The map shows places I have explored. There are acres of area to crawl with comp rigs. I have found a few spots that I have ran my scx10 at. They are scattered around the areas I have explored. Under the big tree was my favorite scale spot. Look for red tags to get to the big tree.
I think this would be a good place to hold a comp if that is still going on down here, lol.
There are some amazing views from up here. Not everything is next to a cliff though. And there were people rappelling in the Falls below.
