mustang getting a 4cyl turbo model?

Oh, I and fixed the last part for ya.;-)

LOL @ Turbo Diesels. Have you read the information on Turbo Diesels? Crap the US is basically trying to kill off diesels for normal consumers. In Europe they allow 8 times the particulates...and they have have cleaner air...yet the EPA and US keep lowering the NOX particulates killing our chances at having diesels take over.

VW (the leader in Turbo Diesel passenger cars) has an 85mpg car in Europe that they said would be at best 55mpg in the US because of the changes. Then add in the extra cost of fixing/washing those NOX particulates and diesels are being forced out of the market.

Efficiency vs power is something the manufacturers are facing. Some people want efficiency. Some want raw power. To have both you can't have a diesel...and you can't have a large displacement v8. You are left with 4 and 6 cylinder engines featuring turbos...and smart companies will be featuring variable vain turbos.

My statement still stands. There is absolutely no way that standard is being met. It may be there bbut just look around at whats on the road.

Hence Ford pushing out small global cars...and GM. They are all doing it to hit the number. Granted a republican gets in there's a chance they push back the date of the change, but its something the manufacturers are being forced to do.

True but have you seen a domestic car company build a turbo 4cyl worth the paper its drawn on? (and before anyone says Cobalt Ill just say its still a Cavalier :flipoff:)

Why waste money on a Domestic car, more than likely built in Canada or Mexico?

That said....Ecoboost in the Focus ST and Fiesta ST.

Sorry but a 4cyl Mustang is like buying a 6cyl Charger ........ nothing I hate more then seeing a nice muscle car then noticeing the 205.60.16 and a single exhaust tip.

Weird...you realize the stock size on the "Muscle car" era was only 215/60/14 on a Chevelle SS with the 454 engine. Just because people put on wider now doesn't mean you can't with newer cars as well.

Well I wont turn this into a SC v.s. T debate, or a "replacement for displacement" argument, but I respectfully disagree.

You're still wrong then :flipoff: "thumbsup"

They had a turbo 4 back in 1979, too.

Are we so spoiled these days that 250 hp is considered slow and gay? The old 5.0 models didn't hit that mark until late in the game.

Less weight on the nose (and overall) should make it a fun car. Sure, it's too heavy but what isn't these days?

IMO there are different wants and needs for differnet people, thats certain.agreed?

I have driven alot of time when I was 19-19 in a 90 fox body, usually in traffic, going to fast, and on the edge of losing controle..all whilel we thought we was in controle.

There was several local stangs in the area, and we all raced each other, but only one svo....that car cornered and stoped better than the v8s did.

On the main roads and highway...no problem, but on the bacl streets you couldnt touch the svo. Just a few 90* turns and you would know your not gonna catch em.

If I had a new driver...say my son, or a daily driver for my wife. this car would be safer IMO and more affordable to fill up. The svo had style all its own, and this car will too, if its the style you want, and not unneeded horsepower that will likely just end up getting them hurt or tickets, this sounds like a good choice to consider.
