Well I thought I would share this with you guys.

We recently moved my dad's Camero from under the carport in his house to the garage in the back yard. It had been sitting there for almost 15 years and hadn't been started in over 4 years. believe it or not with just a little gas in the carb and a new battery it fired right up and, with a little coaxing, drove around the property to the garage without to much trouble. everything works including the brakes!

Yah it's been that long since it was on the road

It's just a 68 with a 6cyl 3 speed but the reason it is so significant is that my dad bought this car brand new as a left over model in 1969 and has had it ever since. We grew up in this car as it was my parent's only transportation until 1985 when they finally got another car (I was born in 76 so you do the math) I also drove it in high school until it wouldn't pass inspection any more and got parked

The car has over 245,000 miles on it and runs like a top!

Hopefully some day we will be able to restore the old girl and give her a new lease on life but for now she at least has a proper resting place.

nice old girl.... just dont let it go like so many before it, by saying im gonna fix it up, and years and years pass, and eventually it just gets hauled to the dump or worse, the crusher cuz its been sitting for too long and not worth the time and money to fix it up!

Ha, funny you spelled it wrong a couple of times. C-A-M-A-R-O. Bitchin' Camaro.

not worth the time and money!? dude thats a 68 camaro! even a 6cyl like that all restored should pull in close to $20,000!

Thanks everyone! Sorry I F'd up the name. I always spell Camero wrong...DOH! I mean CamAro LOL

Anyways the car is defiantly not going anywhere in my life time. My dad has had stupid amounts of money offered for it and refuses to part with it. Heck he's gotta keep it covered when it's outside otherwise he gets people popping out of the woodwork asking if he'll sell it. This will be a family heirloom.

For right now it's just going to sit there. His plans are for a complete restoration keeping the 6 popper but adding on period performance parts like intake exhaust and maybe even a supercharger!

Right now we have too many projects on the block. he has 2 MG's that he wan't to restore first and I have a couple cars that are in process as well. I think this is going to be his retirement project.

Right now it's just cool to look at and remember8)

i know it is and i love those cars.... and not to knock the camaro but ive seen it happen to cars alot nicer than this one. i know right now of a 55 chevy 150 2door that a guy bought in the 70s with the intentions of restoring and now its for sale for 300 and isnt worth it ... theres nothing left to it. just dont want it to happen to this one

restore it, this one doesn't look to bad. i love all the classics, chevy dodge ford even some foreign cars "thumbsup"
