Well just got my first 1:1 last night (thanks to R33F3R for the ride) I'm diving in head first because I admittedly know little. I do have Brian (Rockpiledriver) to guide me though. The goal is like many, to make it as trail capable as possible while still maintaining the street-legal status.

Here's what's planned to be installed: (incomplete of course)
Dana 44 Rear
Full-Traction 6" System & Skid
Full-Traction M-Force Shocks
SYE & CV
Warn F&R Bumpers, Winch, & Sliders
Eaton ELockers
Pro Comp Series 97 Wheels
Goodyear MT/R 33" or 34"
Staun Internal Beadlocks

Any experience with the Full-Traction System compared to maybe the Rubicon Express?

Thanks! (XJ Dance!!)

i like the rubicon express more but thats just my opinion and you got lucky nice and expensive seats"thumbsup"

Full Traction has good stuff. If I remember right they ride a little smother, but don't take my word on that. What motor does it have? The 6 or 4 and is it Fuel injected? If not make it Fuel Injected. Looks good and straight. Those are the seats I have in my YJ, but they're all Black Vinyl.:)

Yeah there's not a dent on the damn thing.....that'll soon change.....
It's 6cyl Fuel Injected. It has 110k on a new motor and 200k on the chassis. Considering replacing both axles and steering completely for more reliablility/strength. For what it came with, it's going to be a great start and set me back $2400 which leaves me lots of room in my budget. It'll be one of the fastest XJ buildups in history. Can't wait for Moab this year for so many reasons now!

Go sit your F350 on the hood. Step back a few paces and realize this is how your XJ will look a year from now.

you couldn't have picked a better truck to start on. jeeps are easy to work with, easy to mod, and have a great engine. I personaly would go with a OX or ARB in the rear, just personal preferance. if you need help go to reno4x4.com they are the largest 4x4 site in nevada and i think on the west coast now, they are really nice, friendly, and highly xj oriented

keep us posted with the buil and pics!

Is that for any performance reasons or just in the looks department?

Thanks for the links guys! I think I'm going to have Dynatrac build me my 44 Rear!!! mmmmmmmm

Looks??
He is talking about a locker...there isnt any "looks" until you pull the diff cover.

BTW, why not build a junkyard 8.8? Stronger than the 44 and cheaper...

I had a friend that has had serious problems with their kits under his XJ, serious failures both on and offroad. Unfortunately I think you get what you pay for in this case...

nah, the xjs don't crumple up, i saw one, the guy rolled it twice, coudln't tell. if your gonna go cage, go exo, cause it just looks bad azz!
