So my first rock crawler, and I’m hooked!
I had traxxas bashers and was all about speed, now I’m slow and steady! Very relaxing, I don’t know what it is. I got myself a Jeep Cherokee, and my son a k5 blazer. We’ve been having a blast! I wanted to just have a progress thread of my little truck, and share our experience. I didn’t like the Jeep much, but loved the honcho body. Bought the body posts and body off eBay and drilled some new holes to fit it. My son is already satisfied with how his truck handles, so not much upgrades on his.So far we’ve only done...

Honcho.
Front to rear coil swap
Added the jeeps mirrors and door handles
Some scale accessories
Fender flares
Hot racing front axle weights
Duratrax deep woods tires
Steel bead locks
Steel front bumper cut down for better approach
Aluminum rock sliders

Blazer.
Steel bead locks
Hyrax replica tires

Very nice list and good to see kids outdoors and with a parent who encourages their interests.

Reviving this thread just to say thanks for sharing this, it's great to see you and your kid having fun, together. I was looking into info on putting mirrors and handles to the Honcho body, as I got some Base Camp accessory pack and was chickening out on "are they gonna fit", before I drilled the body. It seems they look nothing short of amazing. OK, I have the morale boost I needed, I think ;)
