My first question is about the combo... I don't want a pure basher... I want a scale (U4 look-a-like) that can ''crawl'' at slow speed but can bash a bit when needed...
(an all-around rig)
What should a take? Sensored brushless for sure...
I was thinking about the HH BL system but not sure a want to spend another 215+us (+-300cdn) on this rig...
So what else? Hobbywing? Castle MMP? Novak?
What Kv would be the best for the 2-speed trans...?
thx

For peace of mind, I use D-Lux oversize bearing modded plastic rear axle, with beeftube and 13/43 diff gears front and rear. Best mesh!

I also purchase D-Lux oversize bearing modded plastic front diff case. They barely need shimming as he did a very good job to maje sure it is tight still smooth.

Motor wise, I'd stil go with the longuest sensored can you can use ( HH XL serie have good review) , I have a use tenshock 3500kv I'll be trying with a silicone conformal waterproofed MMP. Might try the Hobbywing Xerun. 545 gives you a little more torque to prevent overheating. We all add quite a bit of weight to make it bullet proof, so crawler can warm things up.

Post pics so we can follow this project!

Ill be going with eh HH540xl soon enough. At first it will be paired with the stock ESC, which i should be able to crawl with using the low gear on the 2spd. Hopefully I wont see as much cogging. If that isnt the case then the MMP will the the next upgrade. Keep an eye out for RPP sales, they also sell the HH motor and when the sale comes around hopefully for like black friday or what not it would be a great buy.

Thx man... As for the tires, i Didn't find much reviews on them but still, i wanted to give them a try, since i like trying differents tires and the price is cheap...

They are not mounted yet but i can say that i love the compound... very very sticky and soft... they looked like they will grip very well on dry surface, not sure about wet condition tho... But since i will do more scale/crawl than bashing, they should suit my yeti well... And they are HUGE!!! Damn so huge...
The foam are way way too big for the tire... too much foam in there... I will try star cut first but probably end up with some CI;-)

I'm very interested in your tire choice of JConcepts Scorpios 2.2 tires. I'm liking the looks but have some concerns about performance overall, I'll look forward to your evaluation. Nice collection of hop-ups for your kit looks good. "thumbsup"

I have them in a 1.9 and I hate too say it but on the dry rock and dirt the jc's are hooking up better than my klr's

I have have a setup that sounds like what u want. I love my growlers. I pulled my tekin pro4hd and put in a skyrc pro4s. It's 49.99 and I'm on 4s with a 3000kv. Nice and smooth. I run it with an mmp. If u run locked up front I would suggest the blue monkey spool and mip setup and some strong arm sleeves.

Where do you prefer to buy those motors?
They look quite a bit like Tekin don't they?

I found a nice 10% off code for RCJuice if anyone wants to try that out... rctech10
I'm gonna try a 3000KV version and compare to my PRO4HD of the same speed.

Sounds like you've made your motor choice. its a tough one because of all the great choices available. Making it even more difficult is everyone loves their set-up and thinks that its best. Truth is their all powerful enough to keep the Yeti on the work bench, :)

Now isn't that interesting, how lucky could we be to have two new awesome 1.9 tires both with game change written all over them. "thumbsup"

So true my friend;-)

Now i have to find a combo more around 2500kv sensored (3s) and not too expensive...

Any ideas anyone???
