I extended my TLT with 69 mm dogbones and put some Big Bores on it. Here are some pictures:

Because I put WW2 tires on it the gear ratio has changed. Who can tell me which pinion and spur i need to keep the ratio stock? And a nice body for a 250 mm wheelbase (+- 9.5 inch)?

Cool, I'm concidering extending mine now
Do you happen to know what the drive shafts your using came off of?

As far as gear ratios, What is the diameter of the tire you are using?

Stock 3.8" Diameter, so take your larger tire devided by 3.8, that's the percentage of change. Then take the 24T pinion and divide by your % change, there's a good starting point for tooth count

example: 4.8 / 3.8 = 1.26
24 / 1.26 = 19 tooth pinion for same ratio.

I was just searching Tower
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0095P?FVSEARCH=metric+pinion&FVPROFIL=++
If I've searched properly, we need a Metric 49 pitch pinion gear. The only problem I can see is they don't list the shaft size it fits over.
IIRC we need a 1/8" diameter hole, is this right????

I would wish it was a rooster . It's just a silly robbe rookie which i bought NEW at the LHS for 25 euro. It does his job, but nothing more.

I'm running the Wild Willy 2 tires that have a dimeter of 3.9". I wouldn't mind if my spur and pinion both changed. Can you search for a possible combination for it on tower? Thanks 8)! The dogbones are from a TGX, partnumber 50625.

XyRoS,

WHOA, I must be getting old, I could have sworn your post said 1.9" diameter

Thanks for the dog bone p/n

My stockers measure 3.8", if your 3.9" I'd call it close enough

Damn i'm so bad at measuring inches. The stockers are 94 mm if I'm correct and my tires are around 108 mm.

[engage Metric mode]

108 / 94 = 1.14

24 / 1.14 = 21.05

The math still works, :flipoff: just different units.
To get back to stock, you'll need a 20 or 21 tooth pinion.

Take a look at my previous post, There's a wide selection. I' DON'T know if the hole in the center is correct or not, sorry.
