The Hydro Steer as stated in the General Crawlers area still needs to be tested on the rocks. It bench tests just fine and works flawlessly but I still need to take it out when Im done with this project and beet it up on the trail to see how it holds up. Ive tried to think of everything but who knows maybe I missed something. There are no pics of my winches because I have not started fabricating them as of yet, however the planns for them are finnished so more to come on that.

As far as my drivetrain, I am using an Integy 65t coupled to a modified Dewalt 12v 2 speed Trans shifted via micro servo. Coupled throuh a bell housing I made is an RC10GT Transmission as a Transfer Case. From the Transfer Case to the TLT Axles is are the Drive Shafts wich the rear has a Disconnect and Disk Brake for front dig. My dig setup is not pictured yet but is complete however, the Disk Brake is all but the arm atatched to the shaft that will actuate it.

I have machined my own set of hubs/Axle wideners, hub caps ect. And modified the RC4WD rims. I am going to change the width of the hubs and shorten them up a bit as I no longer need them as wide as I first made them. But for now you will get the point from the pics of the first desighn.

I am waterproofing everything cause its not just for comps but for playin around as well and I do not want to be limited to what I can do with my crawler ( kinda like what JasonInAugusta says " if its worth building, its worth over building")

Also the pics show the Transmission case mounted to the fire wall, There are no guts in it for now in the pics because it is a buch of planetary geering that likes to fall out when moving it around. So no its not just an empty case when the rig is done! It is functional with extreamly low geering! I just dont have the specs with me to give you at the moment.

Anyway enjoy the pics and feel free to ask questions if you have them.
Not eveything is pictured, Im doing my best with what I have cause Im TDY in Nevada for another week! VEGAS BABY YAAAAA!

Sorry if there is duplicates! Also just so there is no confusion, The hydro steer in the pics is mounted to the rear axle just for testing purposes. I think it was just the closest axle to me when I wanted to mount it. It will be on the front axle when complete.

Holy lots o' pics!! Dang, that is some amazing work."thumbsup" I can't wait to see how this turns out.

creative and very impressive, wow, lots of time spent on some quality work there"thumbsup"

great skills man. kinda tough on a stub axle i would think. awful wide also. maybe just the pics look that way.

Yes it is 12 -1/4" wide if I use those currant hubs, but thats why I said in the begining that I am going to redo the outer hub (part that bolts to the wheel) and make them shorter by half.

Also if you think about it the stub axles used in there stock config (bolted through the rim) with just that one nut on the end , or a barrel nut going through a rim, axle widener and then to the stub is way more stress on that stub axle than what you are seeing here. Thats exactly why I desighned it this way. In the config you see here the stress is placed on a much larger area and distributed out. Its alot better to place 100lbs on a 5" area than a 1" area. That inner hub is basicaly desighned to be part of that stub, like the stub was machined with that hub as one piece. The pins are hardened and the stub is a tight fit in that hub."thumbsup"

those are aluminum knuckles right?

I am guessing here but plastic knuckles wouldn't go to well with hydro steering.

Yes they will be aluminum but I havent got the Knuckles yet so what you see is plastic for now as I build the rig.

I havent decided if I am going to buy them from RC4WD or make my own as I do have a Mill and the tools to do it and it realy wouldnt take much time. So still deciding on that. Also the rear axle will get the strait axle mod as well and again I may make those as well. I also am going to make my own clocked axle C's
