I've got to run some winch line through a 3/16 the brake line that has a bunch of bends in it. I'm looking for a flexible cable to snake through the tubing so that I can attach the winch line to it and draw it back through.

Anyone know of something that I can push into the tube and it can still make some turns and a couple that are sharp ?

Fishing cable? SpiderWire?

You could try and blow something through like larger electrical conduit.
We always tie a plastic grocery bag to a sting and blow it through with a leaf blower.
Tie a small piece of paper or knot the end of sewing thread and blow it through
with a compressor, then use that to pull your winch line back through.

I use some brake cable from an old 10 speed I had around, you can also use picture hanging wire sold in small coils at home depot, loews , walmart, K mart and any craft store "thumbsup" ....

Yep!!! bike brake or shift cable will work, shift cable is smaller dia. there fore a bit more flexy then brake cable, but both should fit through. Bike shop sells it for 2-4 bucks a 5 ft length.

and blow it through with an air compressor

Guitar strings. One pack just a few bucks (Think I paid $5 for a chap pack) and will come in multiple sizes. Rigid stuff so it should fish pretty good and still make the bends you need. Works great for cleaning out tiny passages in carbs too.

Small chain?:lmao:

He means a REALLY small chain :lmao:

Though, not sure what you call it but the dog-tag chains (like the ones you find in ceiling fans) might work. I do know it works great fishing stuff through walls as you can use a powerful magnet to grab it and help fish it through walls. WOuld be stiff enough to push through a link I think.

Lol! Better be hobbit sized small chain as the tube is a TIGHT fit at the corners.
What I ended up doing was finding a small diameter plastic tube and taped it into the opening of my shop vac hose then taped it up to seal any leaks. You shoulda heard the squeal that thing let out when I turned it on. Don't know the diff pressure it created but it had to be substantial as I just slid the plastic tube over the brake line and fed the line through, it took a bit of coaxing it but it worked great.

I used my old dog tags for this exact thing. I build a trailer for my 1/6th scale Jerp and I didn't think it out far enough to run a chase wire through the frame before I brazed it together. I was able to feed the tag dag chain through the chassis, then used it to pull a piece of safety wire back through then used that to pull the wiring harness through the chassis.

What he said . Sorry for the lack of details. A SMALL necklace/chain the weight will go through the bends easy. Remember not to pull too hard these small chains are not very strong. The dog tag chains work the best. I have used this method for running wires through handle bars on motorcycles also and it works perfect (using a bigger chain but still small).
