Need help wiring a RC4WD light bar - Baja Designs Stealth

I just got a Baja Designs Stealth light bar from RC4WD and holy crap this thing looks nice! I got it all mounted up but it barely lights up by just plugging it into the receiver. I'm assuming the receiver doesn't put out enough voltage needed to light the bar up. Am I right? So do I attach the light bar straight to a battery?

if you have it plugged into rx via the 7.4v plug and your rx is running less than 7.4v then it wont give much light, it says it can be connected to lipo on the rc4wd product page although be carefull with 3s, even though it specs 3 cell safe the max voltage stated is still less than what a full 3s is so i would probably just hook it straight to a 2s instead, kind of like the rc4wd wireless winch controllers, they claim you can use a 3s with it yet all charged 3s are around 12.6v until they are almost empty so not really 3s capable lol

Very interesting. The servo plugs are all 3 wire, and the balance plug on most lipos are 4 to 6 wire? I'm in the same boat, and would like to see a pic of this. Thanks ahead of time. Ron
