New Axle Cases & Gears ~ For my SCX10 II Build sill in progress after almost a year.

Hot Racing ~ Aluminum Axle Cases
Vanquish ~ AR44 Axle Gear Set 30T/8T
Vanquish ~ Diff Spool Differential Locker
Vanquish ~ Chromoly Rear Axle Shafts
Axial ~ AR44 Universal Axle Set
Axial ~ Ball Bearings
I already have all the STRC Aluminum front & rear part's that will bolt right on to the Hot Racing axle cases.

I decided to buy everything for a complete set of front & rear axles, That way I can keep my stock axles for backup,
Or sell the stock axles to re-cooperate some of the cost of the new ones ???
I had my heart set on all Vanquish internals but every place where out of Vanquish front Universals,
at the time I was ordering all the part's, but I can always buy them later on when there back in stock.

Looks like some decent upgrades over stock. As long as the Axial uni’s were a nice tight fit in the VP spools, should be ready to rock. Only thing I would recommend while these new parts are being installed/assembled is new spool hardware with the replacement of the 2x8m screws with Protek high strength ones. They handle brushless power and binds where the stocks failed for me. Shim is very small, and I made sure the screws were not over or under tightened.

Before you go Vanquish crazy, realize there are other options out there. If you want to keep all of the externals and "pretty" parts Vanquish I understand. But you don't need to buy their internals. The Axial universals are fine.

I got my new axles built and mounted on my truck but not with a small set back.
I over tightened one of the aluminum rear lock outs on the stock rear axle and striped the screw head.
I tried to drill out the screw with out luck.
Ended up cutting it off, Lessen learned {Don't over tighten screws on aluminum part's}
So I put the stock rear lock outs on for now till I get some new aluminum ones.
I painted them red should have just left them black.

I don't like the angle there sitting the first few rocks I hit will tear up the scale hardware.
So now I need to make some homemade axle guards.

Am i seeing things or are the knuckles on the wrong sides?
Edit: After checking that those are STRC, someone pointed out in another thread that STRC knuckles are effed up and just look that way. Apparently that is the correct way to put those particular knuckles on.

I know the crazy money we put into our rigs but not like some this is my only out let in life.
I am the soul 24hr. care taker of my 89 y/o mother and I owe her that no nursing home for her ever !!!
So needless to say I can't go many places or have a life of my own but not complaining.
The little money that I make doing odd jobs when I can leave the house I put in my hobbys.
And plus selling used rc and slotcar part's on craigslist once in a wile.
Yes my truck has a lot of top of the line part's on it, All blood sweet and tears to make that happen.
I am not trying to put my pretty part's in someones face I just want to show something I am proud of building.
Sorry I had to vent to my fellow rc builders but no one else to vent to.
All your builds are grate no one is better then the other it's your skills and creativity you put into them that counts the most.

But you don't need to buy their internals. The Axial universals are fine.

I agree that the Axial uni’s are pretty good, I’ve owned both and I found the VP’s to be beefier and much smoother when turning, they chatter a lot less for me. Just something to consider!

I've never had VP universals so I can't comment. I've read mixed reviews. People seem to have their preferences.

I had to spend some more money that I don't have. LOL
I really did not want to but no choice,
The front Hot Racing axle did not work out because of the angel it was sitting at and no way to make a skid plate for it.
So I ordered a Vanquish Currie RockJock SCX10-II Front Axle.
{ Dose it have to be shimmed when assembled or will it be fine the way it is with out shimming } ???
{ And will my STRC Aluminum Steering Knuckles blot on to the Currie axle ok } ???
{ Thank You, For Any INFO ~ On my questions }
