I wanted to ask if there is anybody that has tried a 9.6V 1800 Mah Battery ?

I would like to try a bigger battery for longer run times and maybe even a little more power to my steering. I am turning 2.2 Dirt Hogs and the steering works really well for about the first 10 minutes. After the battery starts to drain a little the steering doesn't work so well any more.

Has anybody tried a different battery in their 1/18 ?

Which battery works for you ?

yeah i tried a 9.6v batt. it seemed to work great. it might be necessary to make sure stuff is beefy enough to handle more power. I put my battery up under the hood for more foward weight. everything seemed ok.

going from 7.2 to 9.6 is a big jump in voltage.becarfull you might fry the stock board and some after market escs.you might want to try a 1200 intelect pack or a 1100gp. both those packs are way better then stock and same voltage as stock.

I race mini-T and found that the Integy matched packs offer much more punch than the generic ones. SMC also makes a good pack for the price. They are all 7.2 volt and might kick you what you are looking for in the smaller package. I have not tried them in a Nylint though.

i too would like a bit more power, but were do you get these beefier batteries at?

Try tower hobbies...
One of my scorpions is running one of DDiaz's custom aluminum frames, and that allows me to run a standard 7.2v 1700mah stick pack lenghwise on top of the board...works great.

Im running one of my old 9.6v wally world batteys from an old rc truck..there cheap, run longer and have more power. i had like 10 so I took all the heat wrap off nad just folded them in half so there smaller and they seem to works great!

9.6v

You guys running 9.6V with hobby grade elec. tell me what ESC are you using? I've got a generic ESC W/reverse that says it can handle 8.4v sub-c batteries ya think it can handle the 9.6 smaller cell packs?

Looking for more power to turn my 2.2s but not toast my axles or motor! Ideas any one?
