New Brunswick

Neat looking truck...I was thinking about a vanquish rock crawler next as a full build...although by the time I'm done with this the only thing that'll be stock is the chassis....well have....well have to do a little crawling sometime

Be nice to get afew people together on a semi regular basis and get a good local following driving together

I just bricked my transmitter by adding the Bluetooth module. It failed at a firmware upgrade, so I guess it’s off to Traxxas. Putting an old SCX-10 kit together while I wait for a new tx.

I bought it mostly for end point adjustments. Plugged it in, paired it to my phone, it forced a firmware upgrade, and now I’m left with a orange blinking light on the transmitter. Tried all the fixes on the inter webs, but no go. Maybe there is something to be said about the old tried and true technology.

tried and true all right...my dad's words always ring in my ear every time something with new technology breaks down "they just don't make it like they used to" any timeline idea on when you'll get it back?

No idea how long they’ll have it, but it should get to Traxxas in a couple more days. I was shocked it only cost $11CAD to ship it to Texas. Prolly cost double that to send something to TO! I’ll let yuh know how it turns out.

Yeah just the Tx. When I get it back we’ll have to go for a run. I never asked you, what are you’re running?

Running the Defender in Red...ordered a couple accessories for it some slim front and rear bumpers to help with approach and departure angles and a few little visual to help with it's scale appearance from knight custom which includes the rear tire delete and rotopak relocate which will again help with approach and departure angles as the last time I had it out the rear tire drug and hung up...absolutely we'll have to go for a run. Weather would have been perfect 2 weeks ago now we're loaded with snow and more on the way

Cool! I grabbed the SSD front and rear bumpers for the same reason. Got the Traxxas lights minus the rock lights. I also bought some Proline BFGs with SSD aluminum wheels, but they may be lost to my new SCX10 Dingo build. Weather has been a real bummer. I do a lot of hiking and the trails are a mess. I don’t really like to do a whole lot of water stuff with my RCs (I guess RCing in the 80s gave me a fear of moisture) so it kinda sucks.

I haven't figured out what I want yet for tires it seems like everyone has good luck with the pitbull tires but one thing I still haven't grasped completely is how to choose the right set of tire foams for the type of driving I want to do. The only thing I really know is I want to do a lot of rock crawling as I just love watching the truck articulate and the satisfaction of getting the right line and making it work is awesome.

To be honest, with the BFGs I just went for the look. I wanted something with a scale tread and a little smaller than the Traxxas tire. Pitbulls look fine, and everyone raves about em, but I don’t like the company that much, so I stick to Proline. Foam technology evades me too but I’m not worried about doing any comps. If it looks like my truck has a major flat I’ll start worrying. :)

Lol...I'll probably play around with some foams the concept must be similar to letting the air down in an atv tire to give more surface area...I'm gonna try the growlers and see where it gets me I might sipe them a bit with the dremel...I'd really like to get into comp stuff but kinda limited around here
