Figured it was about time to quit lurking and actually register and maybe even make a few contributions every now and again.
I have been into RC cars in general as long as I can remember and bought my first hobby grade nitro onroad car about 10 years ago. I always had an interest but never bought one because I spent all my money on a car or bike first. I worked at a UTV/ATV/Offroad shop for 2 1/2 years and that is where I finally found RC crawling and I was hooked before I even saw one in person. It looked like a great way for me to have fun on the trails and crawl without worrying about killing my DD Jeep.
I have started playing with my cars more and more because of money being tight and not wanting to spend a ton on a car or Jeep lately, I have been lurking for a long time and actually got my first crawler several months ago.
I got a used Axial AX10/SCX10 (I feel like I stole it once I got to noticing how much some of the parts cost). It WAS an AX10 but now has a TCS Crawlers chassis so I consider it almost an SCX10. I have been basically unemployed (worker's comp) for 6 months so I have not spent a single dime on the truck since I got it and I'm just waiting to get back to work before I start buying parts.
As of right now it has the TCS Crawlers chassis, Hot Racing steering knuckles, ST Racing suspension links kit with the 3 link mount, RC4WD 90mm shocks, 1.9 Mud Thrashers on older RC4WD 6 lug wagon wheels and the rear MIP driveshaft (but no front). I have the Proline 80's Chevy truck body but haven't built mounts yet.
It came with an OLD Airtronics M8 with the Novak Synthesized switch and receiver and a Traxxas XL5 non waterproof ESC running what looks like a Tamiya silver can motor. I have switched to a Spektrum DX3.0/SR3000 combo I had in my toy box.
Seems like a ton of information to know about a noob already but I have tons of free time on my hands as I just had shoulder surgery and can't do much but sit in the recliner or in front of the computer...
