New line from Horizon Hobby - Vaterra

Will this rig be legal to run in scale comps and G6 events since it is pan based rather than tube chassis or rail chassis? I dig this rig and have the first one set aside at the LHS when they arrive. Just not sure how or what class this will find its way into.

No go for C1or C2 not sure about C3 would have to look into that one.

I would think this would fit right in in the G6

OK guys, looks nice,but....,let's not forget what has been really going on at horizon. This is just my opinion,my opionion based on quite a few years working in hobby shops as a tech.first horizion buys dynamite when other brands were getting better they injected a lot of cash, somethings got better somethings got worse. Then they bought a lot of a lot of airplane/below companies. They bought losi to use the name to badge some of their less than losi quality products. Some of the stuff was good quality Gil Losi stuff and other stuff was less than Gil quality, does anybody remember the Strike SC and the 1/10 scale slider? Kinda junky.Horizion brought down the good losi quality and name and Gil was sick.Next was horizons hellion brand, even worse then junk but at a super cheap price, that little POS turned away so many from staying in the hobby I would not even put them on the shelf, they gave the store 100 of them for free and told us to sell them for what we could,we use most of them for parts to give to the unfortunate buyers for free. The next brand was their own again it was call electrix RC,super low priced, low quality focused at undercuting traxxas type vehicles. They flopped so they changed the name to torrent. They made the losi sct to get into the SC market but it was just more rebadged sportworks stuff like the strike and the slider,a lot of the parts were the same just the losi name, shame. They have done this with a lot of other product names. They still make the good old losi stuff such as the tlr losi quality, true losi products.I could go on and on,I even own some of these lesser products, for what they are.I will wait to see which level this product line falls under and who appeared to design it,the quaity of the materials peticually the quality of the plastic formula.I like how it appears,it is the only name brand IFS rear solid axel KOH out there but it is only the first.I want one if it feels right and looks right in my hands,I just want to see what this horizon brand does first.

Sorry didn't mean to offend any one,and yes I got on a rant.aperantly my dumb phone is not letting me do paragraphs or spell check for that matter, again I Apologize.

Looking forward to replying to your ridiculous rant tomorrow.

It's everything the Wraith should have been.

Exactly what I thought.

My favorite builds right now are the Wraith/Exo hybrids. This is pretty much looking like that in RTR form.

I've been planning a "beach trip rig" for this summer's vacation. I've been thinking a Tamiya Sand Scorcher re-pop, but this thread might've just changed my mind...

I have been out of the scene for a while now but actually got excited that someone finally put this into action! Now to sell off some rigs to fund one, I'm in for sure.

I wonder how long it will take until rollers show up on eBay. I doubt it can take the abuse a Summit does, but I want something that can play in the snow.

:) Yes!
I've been looking to get a wraith for a while now but this may change the game for me. I might just have to put in a pre order!
If I do, I will take the opportunity to make my first un boxing video for the masses.

1. Helion wan not a Horizon Hobby brand
2. Electrix rc never changed their name I have a Ruckus and that thing is very durable.
3. They quickly discontinued the strike and put out the xxx-sct which is still a pretty good truck.
4.Out of all the sportwerks cars I have had none of them looked similiar to a strike or slider. The Mayhem shared some parts with a Muggy and xxl and the Recoil shared some parts with the Carisma GT14 but thats about it.

This thing looks really sick:shock: But I really cant see buying one, if this is they way the crawler market is going, which it really does seem so, ill just wait until Axial comes out with a IFS KOH rig. Not saying that Horizon Hobby is a bad company or anything but i would rather buy something from Axial which i know has really nice build quality and lots of aftermarket support.

Im looking forward too owning one of these. Im really curious too see how the quality is and I'm all for giving new companies a chance. I like my Wraith but IMO it feels like a toy grade RC and was not impressed with it for the money. This thing could end up being a really nice high quality car or it could end up being a big pile of crap. Exited to find out if i threw my money away or not lol!
