Go this in an email from gamestop today:

I like portable games and the current psp does a pretty good job. I've been waiting for the updated one to come out. So I check the link and start reading about the features. No disc games, download only from the PSN. Now who in the hell thought this was a good idea. It makes all the current PSP games useless if you upgrade to a new one.

I would also think it would make it less lucrative for game developers to come out with new games. Now instead of getting a tidy profit selling a disc at a retail outlet they will have to partner with Sony to make a sale on the Sony owned network.

On the plus side the new Tony Hawk game with the skate board looks pretty sick:

yeah, been keeping in an eye on the go since the david ellis leak a couple of weeks before e3. definatly a sexy piece of hardware.
the price point is a little insane imo. if you think about it for an extra 50 you can get yourself a ps3.
what they decide to do w/ umd's is definatly going to sway my choice to buy the go. the fact that there is no news or even ideas coming from sony really has me worried for the platform.
another weird thing is besides the go, sony is releasing a 4000 model of the psp which really makes me scratch my head and wonder if the go is doomed before its release next week.
the go would be an awsome platform to run emulators on though.

as for ride. meh... im going to have to pass. its basically a skate board game on rails. kinda like the old arcade game called top skater. my cousin tried it at pax and was not the least bit impressed. the tony hawk franchise has to take a break and rebrand themselves if they want to compete w/ skate
