A new forum just started: www.teknoforums.com. To build up membership, they are giving away a Tekno EB410 Buggy. A winner will be chosen after the forum has 50 members who each have 20 or most posts (posts in general chat and introductions do not count). I joined a while back and got qualified, but they still have a long way to go, so join the gang! "thumbsup"

It's very odd for somebody to be starting a forum at this point. But cool contest!

Forums are a dying breed.
Ahh, probably due to YouTube and other video formats. Still, I hope there will always be a place to discuss things. That is not as easily done in video format. I'm afraid that pulling away from reading and writing on forums will go hand-in-hand with the dumbing down of America and the trend towards democracy. Or, maybe I'm just too pessimistic.

I think Jato was talking about Fakebook and other social media platforms.

I for one detest Fakebook and its promotion of narcissism and the downfall of common decency. That and the privacy thing.

Forums are nice, but social media is taking over.

I see by his response you are exactly right! I completely forgot about that because I am not a Fakebook user. I have an account so that I can see what my adult kids post. Other than that, I choose to not post much of anything. Even if I were inclined to use Facebook without privacy concerns, the format drives me nuts. I'm probably showing my advanced age when I say that I like the controlled ebb and flow of info via a forum. I find facebook to be cluttered and disorganized. I go out of mh way not to use it.
