New to Crawlers...not to RC

Hi,

Only just found this forum, some of you may recognise the username from the million other forums I seem to be registered with!

I'll keep my introduction as short as possible!

When I was 15 I worked at a hobby shop in the UK (not sure if I'm allowed to name) who sold mainly Tamiya goods. This sparked my interest in RC. Being a spotty teenager though I was more interested in the RC Drifting which was just beginning to take-off.

I was able to get ahold of a CC01 chassis from eBay with a Touareg body, which I sold on straight away to fund the purchase of a 2nd-hand King Blackfoot bodyshell.

The combination of both resulted in this -

By far and away the most fun RC car I had, and it cost a fraction of the costs of the RC-Drift cars!

Sadly, not long after doing all this I passed my driving test, so the RC stuff took a back bench and I fiddled with real cars.

Since then I have started my own family and moved out into my own place (well, it's rented!) and I've recently started moving all of my RC stuff into the new house (much to the dispair of my girlfriend).

The RC drift cars are all still here and I'm in the process of building several 'shelf queens' and a couple of runners. The CC01 is not yet in my posession, but I'll start a build thread when it is.

I can't help but feel a little intimidated by all the amazing builds on here, but hopefully I'll learn some tips and have my own little fleet of RC crawlers before long :)

Well done if you managed to read all of that without getting bored!

Right on remeber my brother had a black foot back in the day a very fun little truck ... then we moved onto the usa-1's i am just starting getting back into the whole rc hobby myself and ruined my usa-1 the other day and parts are hard to find so i am thinking of a superclod turned into a crawler dunno yet tho anyways welcome i am new as well

Welcome! And the CC is one of the "free hits" that started my addiction into this branch of RC ;)
Oops - hit submit prematurely.
At any rate, after I bought the CC I fell in love with scaling and crawling and have three SCX-10 based setups, went through and built (then sold) a wraith, and am happily considering my next project, even though not completely done with current.. :)

Hi C.A.R

I am new to crawlers too, but not RC. I have raced 2wd buggies, 1/10, 1/12 on road in the past.

I have a wraith, and I am looking at getting an SCX as well.

Thanks for the welcome(s)

Where do you get Axial parts from in the UK? I know CML are the main importer for them and have a connection that can get me discount. Eventually I want to have a rig with a bit more customisation, the CC01's are kind of limited in that department!

I have 2 CC01's now and two different projects which I'll post up when they are a bit more developed..
#1 is the truck you see above, going to be the zombie apocolypse scene.
#2 is a CC01 with New Bright TJ body, going to be a Jurassic Park Staff vehicle :)

Can't wait to get started on both, but waiting on parts deliveries :(
