Hello everyone,

I have been investigating all of the rock crawling web sites and just recently joined up here. I am getting into crawling with an LCC that I am picking up today. Its gonna take a little time to get it functioning but I wanted to say hello! I live in Danbury, CT and want to get to know the rest of the rock crawling local community. I am not new to RC and am very familiar with Rc Rock Crawling (but it took some time to build the funds) I look forward to hearing from some of you out there in crawler land. Also I see a lot of you hail from the other side of the state, anyone in my neck of the woods?

Nice to meet all of you,
Ryan:-P

That would be awesome! Would love to attend and get some pointers from the pros. Thanks for the reply.

Ryan

Yo DOGG, I'm new to crawlin also, Picked up an ax10 myself. I have'nt put it together yet because I've been scouring for parts. Bought an msd hybrid chassis, a dig and some other stuff this week... now the only question is do I put it together stock so I have something to compare it to or just put it together! Lookin foward to some gtgs and comps.
GOOD LUCK!!!

Ryan - Welcome to the addiction. We're looking at Kettletown State Park for a comp or two. If you have any good spots in your area please let us know - We would lke to have comps across the State.

Kettletown!!! Thats great, and very close for me. A few other areas I am familiar with but have yet to explore are : Bulls Bridge in New Milford (far north end of Route 7) and Putnam Park in Redding, CT. Both area I would imagine have good crawling spots. Thanks Curt for the fast response.

I am looking forward to meeting all of you,
Ryan

Welcome aboard Cliffdawg and Bukwylde ........

Swing by ECRC's site when you get a chance, always a group doing something expecially with the weather getting nice again.

Crawlinghulls has a great rock garden that we hold several comps at and a few other members have started planting rock seeds in their gardens for this year too.

See ya guys soon "thumbsup"

Hey, Ryan.

I'm right up the road from you.

I like Tarrywile Park in Danbury. There's not a ton of stuff, but it a great place for some 2.2's or scale rigs. We've even had fun with some Supers there back in the day. I swung through Kettletown and didn't see anything to crawl on. Bulls Bridge up in Kent is very cool.

Dont forget PIN Shop Hobbies in Oakville for indoor crawling... great place and great people....

Edit to add a shot from this past saturday:

Matt are you still into rc? What happened to you and RCCA? I am still in the process of my build out and I have a xcelorin on order for my lcc but its on backorder :-( So thats the short of it. I would love to do some comps or get the ECRC guys to terrywile. Thats a cool idea. Bulls Bridge may be a bit far, but you have been up there before for Crawling?? I have done some hiking up there and from what I remember it was a lot of fun.

Looking forward to a good crawling year,

Ryan

I am still very much into RC--probably always will be.

I left my position as Executive editor. Right now I am working as Contributing Editor for RCCA.

I left RCCA/Air Age for a position at a much larger publishing company, but it didn't work out for me and my family. I have returned to RCCA, but work out of my home office and get to spend all day with my two kids. Right now, it is awesome, but things change fast in this business and who knows what I'll be doing a month from now. That's the very short version of the last six months.

Bulls Bridge is a hike from Danbury, but we can meet at Tarrywile in Danbury. Let me know if you need a system for your crawler, I can hook you up. My wife loves it when I give away RC stuff. Each item is one step closer to a kinda clean garage.

Well, I do have everything else, just got my batteries and charger today, and got my new worm spool. Tarrywhile is right down the street from my hardware store, that would be a great place to do some crawling and maybe you could give me some pointers. Yeah I am stoked for the xcelorin 21.5 combo but if you wanna let me borrow a motor/esc combo I would be up and running sooner. I do have to tell you though, this week I leave for Chicago on business on wed and am not going to be back in the area until sunday. So next week is probably best. Nice to talk Matt, hope everything is working out for you now that your back at RCCA. I know what you mean about the kids thing, my wife and I just had our first and mondays are my day to take care of him. So thats what I am doing today, and its the most important part of my week.

Later,
Ryan

Rock Crawling

Hi Everyone. Can anyone tell me where I can go in CT to talk to anyone about joining a club to Rock Crawling. I bought an 1/18 losi crawler and I'm having a ball around the house with it. I was heavely involed in r/c cars and trucks in the late 80's and 90's and want to get into rock crawling. Look's like alot of fun. Thanks for a helping hand.

Welcome to CT - ECRCC has their first 2.2 Comp and GTG this sunday. I pm'd you with details - hope to see you on the rocks.
Curt

hello, i am from the old saybrook area and there are a few of us down here that crawl and are looking to get together with some other ppl in the area, there are a few good rock gardens in saybrook area that would possibly make a decent 2.2 comp. anybody else from the shoreline?

Hoadley - ECRC Crawlers are holding their first 2.2 comp fo the season at my house this sunday (april 11th) people will be showing up around 9:00 am and the comp will start at 10:30 - my address is 334 Scotland Rd, Norwich CT 06360

My wife grew up in Old Saybrook - your only 40 min away (depending on hoy you drive) - pick up 395S, exit 82 - right off the exit and then an immediate left onto Case St. Follow to end and take a left onto Scotland Rd - I'm the third house on the left. - We'll GTG after the comp so bring whatever you have.
