I have a dilemma. I have been doing my research here since deciding to get a crawler. I have decided on an Axial, since the support and options are out there. My sticking point is this - do I get an AX-10 or wait a little bit and get a Wraith. I like the offset pumpkins which straighten the drive line out. But is it worth the extra $$$? I know from full size that the straighter the drive-line, the more driveable the vehicle. Just wanted some input. Thanks in advance.

What it all comes down to is personal preference and money. I started out with an ax10 and fully modded it out over the course of a few months and enjoyed it very much. I recently made the jump into the MOA world and havent looked back since. The wraith to my understanding is not a crawler per say its more of a trail rig. Either way you go its a guranteed good time."thumbsup"

If you are looking to use it on primarily/exclusively rocks, then the AX10 "May" be better. It is more of an comp rocks rig. But if you are looking for all around use, then I would definitely say the Wraith. Faster, better handling, more realistic looking as far as compared to real rigs. Plus there is already and will be many things coming as far as accessories for the Wraith. So it will be a cool, new adventure. There is already tons of stuff out there for the AX10 so that is not a problem. Just a lot of manufacturers will be focusing on the Wraith as it is the new thing.

For a comp crawler to be the most fun, in my eyes it is comping with others. They kind of lose their appeal if running by yourself or if you do not have a good rock course or area near you. The Wraith or many scalers can be run anywhere. Mud, rocks, hills, trails, etc, they are all fun places to run on for them. So it will not be as hard to find enjoyable places to run it. Not saying you can't run a comp rig on those, just a rig like the Wraith is much better overall suited to general bashing or running.

the ax10 is great for hardcore crawling...I think the wraith is a little toned down, meaning...not as capable but more scale like...it all depends on your preference, If i was you, i would get the ax10 instead, because theirs more parts out their already:mrgreen::):flipoff::roll::shock::shock:;-):x

Sounds like the OP is more interested in the comp crawlers than the scale crawlers. Go scale and get an SCX10!!

I bought the AX10 rtc about a couple of months ago. Itis a very capable rig but it didn't take long to find the weak spots. I've upgraded the drive shafts to mip shafts and also the links from plastic to aluminum. Since the upgrades I have had no problems and it performs way better.

Thanks for the input, guys. I have purchased a used AX10 that needs some TLC. I will have to strip it down and start from scratch, which is the way I like to do it. I will keep updating you on my progress.
