Since taking the pics I have detailed the wheel nuts, and hubs. Relocated the recv. box to rear to have a scale fuel tank. As well I replaced the shock ends at the bottom with some from a savage and gained a 1/4 inch. Other than that she is stock with a 20t pinion and a rooster crawler 55t combo.

Nice paint job! I just built my first as well. Solid kit huh? Welcome to the scale side of RC's

Nice paint job! Got that cool retro look...I plan on painting mine retro too. What did you use for that chrome? Is it spazstik chrome? I used it on my blazer and now some parts are chipping out....I backed with tamiya polycarbonate paints. I had the same chrome on another truck backed with acrylic paints and plastic dip and its holding up much better.

chrome

Ya it's a solid kit. I did use spaztix chrome, I had the same problem with it chipping off. Mostly because I didn't allow it to fully dry I was anxious to run the truck.

Well this is my first scale crawler, and am very impressed with its ability. After playing around with the set up I finally found a nice feel to the truck. I located the battery in the front but since the pics have moved it even closer to the center. I then added about 7 ounces in a little plastic box filled with solder in the rear on the chassis, and noticed a big increase in stability. I have also drilled out the rims to allow the air to escape and the tire to compress better over obstacles. I then changed the shock oil to 20wt to soften the suspension a bit and help with articulation. And after all these mods and about 30 min of climbing my drill case and several books this truck at times gets hung up but try another aproach and she gets over.

It was an easy yet fun kit to build and I look forward to making it look a little more scale with the cgr body and bumpers. I may even finish off the parma hemi and throw that on but we will see.

Any one looking to buy a scale truck this baby is pretty cool, I have two nitro rc's and this is a nice quiet alternative once and a while. The neighbors are sure to love this one it's quiet! I would definatly recommend this kit, great job axial.

If you think the SCX10 is a good crawler go get your self an AX10 and you will be blown away. I love my SCX10 and my AX10.
