Nifty trick with Boom Racing wheel packaging / Tamiya tools

I know the overall quality doesn't match MIP or Wiha (although I have broke tips off both of those brands of drivers) - but I picked up a set of $37 Tamiya tools (basically to try and force myself to not apply so much TORQUE when tightening tiny screws and bolts!) - and also because I was getting parts for my non-crawler (M-08) from TamiyaUSA anyways and needed to pad my order a bit.

I just noticed the other day that the comfortable slip-over padded handle that comes with the set has a cut-out that allows you to use it as a sort of T-handle - of course I'm not likely to do this as I already mentioned I'm prone to overdoing the tightness!

BTW, if you buy Boom Racing wheels, the foam surround from the package has hex-shaped rods die-cut out of them - meaning you can stack the packaging foam and use the hex-shaped foam rods as sort-of connectors, allowing you to make your own vehicle stand or tool holder... "thumbsup"

That is a nifty little organizer. I just checked mine but I didn't
get the hex pieces in mine. Oh well

That's odd - mine were in both the Boom Racing 1.9" ProBuilds, and the Narrow 21mm Badass Classic 16-Hole Steelies - it's really hard to tell they're there - just look at my pic and where they are sticking up, try pushing in with a fingertip or another blunt object to make sure. I only left them sticking up out of the holes as a demonstration - when I get another set I'll make one more stack of 3 high, which should make for 2 truck stands. They will be flush at the top.

Huh - so the nifty hexes were removed from the foam already... Interesting, wonder why some come one way and others come different.

I'll likely be ordering more Boom Racing wheels in the future, maybe another set of ProBuilds - this time selecting every piece in a custom color, now that their stock has been catching up.

We'll see if they ship the same way!

Thats a cool find! I just checked the foam that cam with mine and they are just like you posted.

I like it!
