NIMH or lipo

i say lipo
more punch and better runtimes
and when treated properly there apparently safer

That is a completely false statement. I have been flying and using Lipo for a few years. These are very dangerous batteries if not handled properly. Puncture a cell and you have a good possibility of a volitile fire on our hands. Over amp them and you can puff a cell and it will burst into a volitile fire. Drawing them down too far will cause a cell to be destroyed thus causing it to puff or burst if you try to charge it.

If you go Lipo then make sure you treat them like a new born child or they may bite you and hard.

Gotta love reading comprehension...

this is a awesome pack to use on a axial scorpion, its light and fits over the front links for a nice low cog. about 30 min runtime on a 35t motor and stock pinion:

this is the charger i would recommend it works great every time:

as for maintenance i find lipo easier you just charge the pack and store it no need to worry about voltage drop or losing its punch like nimh.

Hit Mr. Holmes up from Holmes Hobbies.

I just picked up a nice 1350 Mah 3c Lipo pack to use on my new Axial based rig, I paid $25.00 for it.

Plus he is a vendor here on RCC and can answer any questions you might have(as he has demonstrated here in this thread) w/ his vast experience in electronics. "thumbsup"

I agree, Ive been running the 11.1 Vislero packs from JRH. I love em, great wheel speed and thus far perfectly reliable/safe. Small enough to mount on the servo or on the Axial axle battery mount. 45m runtime with stock gearing and 27t motor.

I'm new to crawling, but wanted to put my two cents worth in anyway. I went with lipo for two reasons - 1. I have several Losi Mini-T's that I wanted to try going Lipo with (more on the later). 2. I went with Novak Goat and their Crawler brushless motor. Their esc excepts only 2 cell lipo's and Novak says thats all you need with their system. So I decided to go with FMA Directs 950Mah lipo small form factor lipo's because they would fit in my Mini-T and it would fit on the front side of Axials optional front servo/battery tray. In fact, that pack fits perfectly. And, this small battery runs 20-30 minutes on a charge - Amazing! I went FMA Direct because of their top notch balancing charger that everyone raves about on RC electric aircraft sites - The 4S charger. It is a great charger - and very safe from my (limited) experience and from what EVERYONE says.

Im sure I could find something. Just depends on the voltage. Shoot me a PM with the dimensions/voltage/runtime you need and we can work it out. Or post up in my vendor section.
