Ok guys I switched to some 32p gears. I have the mesh set should be just about right. Motor temps are 95-125 range. I know a heavier toothed gear tends to make a little more noise but these things are yelling a good 34-50% louder than my 48P. Is that normal?? Might be up to play next weekend not water/mud running though...

The 32P are louder, but it is odd, I run them in all my trucks and the Wraith is twice as loud as the Hilux or the Taco.

I am up for next weekend. Got the new body done on the Wraith, still having a little trouble with ESC and Motor but I think it is the Sensored/UnSensored setting on the ESC. Just means I have to unbaloon everything again to retest it.

For the life of me, I could not find any of my air brush stencils of templates so just a simple paint job on this to see how it works out. I will do another is a few weeks. Rear deck is just sitting in place not locked down.

Ewww.. ford! :)

My biggest hangup with F350, Silverado, Tundra, etc. Class 1 builds is that none of those are solid front axle trucks. So if Class 1 is supposed to be pretty much a beefed up street truck, they really need a IFS in the front. That would definitively be a sick build.

IFS would be pretty cool but, you could have a class1 rig with a solid axle conversion! How do you know it didnt have IFS and I switched it over to a solid axle?!:lmao:
Yea, my class3 is gonna be Ford! Maybe ill switch it up and do something else for the other rig... Hmm.

Actually all of them are easily converted to solid axles if they are used for crawling. Of course if they are used for crawling, they are probably not a class one rig.

Actually, the Hilux was a solid front axle. The Ford F350 was available with a solid front axle through 2008, Ramns had solid axles into the 2000s (my 2002 Ram was a solid front axle). Can't speak to the Silverados. Tundras have always had IFS.

Yeah, that is what I was sorta getting at. Seems if you are converting to a solid front axle, then it'd be more of a Class 2 rig.

Ah, I wasn't aware of axles being available so late in the game!

Anyone know if the flatbed counts as "Wheel can not extend past body"?
I'd like to build a class1

EDIT: It looks like the flat bed is legal but now I have another question...

So, I was wondering about Class 1. I don't see that it actually has to be a Factory Spec. truck... because Ford didn't make 4x4's till the 40's.

But.
In the 30's, Marmon-Herrington started doing Ford truck conversions "thumbsup"
So, I think I will build a Parma 34' Ford Dually

Ford also sold the trucks with NO Bed... I know that's against C1 rules though... but it was a factory spec option.

i should just assume i'm ahead of the curve.

what was it just a month or two ago people were saying wraiths werent for them as well as class 1?...

:flipoff:

my f350 is class 1 for sure but it wouldnt comp at all compared to a honcho running 4.18 tires. my current rig is being built as both a class 1 and a class 2. only got to swap out links and body/bumpers to change it up.

...and its going to be the BADDEST ever class 1. ;-)

Jason, Is that a class1 build off challenge!!!?

Haha just playin'.. I have to finish my class3 rig first. Johnny on the other hand..8)

I still don't have a Wraith!
and that's the same reason I'm reluctant to build a Class 1... the Honcho.
