Seems like a reasonable item to take on the trail with ya.

I just want to know if it'll be a nonfunctional or functional point!

a truggy gets 1 more scale point, if you have all the tuber parts.

Tuber has a ladder chassis all the way back.
Truggy has the ladder cut off after the skid and replaced with tube. Truggy has to have shock mounts as part of the tube work.

im on my droid so searching is a pita, but arent tubers definded by their lack of chassis rails and 100% tube construction?

i bend up a 1:1 chassis using nothing but tube and sheetmetal, tuber/buggy.

i start with a 1ton chevy truck and chop it up, truggy.

A tuber consists of a complete body structure where the front, cab, and rear sections are comprised entirely of structural tube work.

So yeah my thoughts are that the Wraith is a tuber. If you use a ladder frame and add the tube rear after the cab, its a truggy. Otherwise its just a ladder frame with roll bar, interior/exo-cage, etc.

I don't think the rules actually mention the word "tuber" at all...

Tuber (metal -8, plastic -4)
A tuber consists of a complete body structure where the front, cab, and rear sections are comprised entirely of structural tube work.
Tube bed, roll bar, internal cage, and shock mount points not available in addition to tuber points.
 Rigid metal/plastic body panels -1

Yup, they do. :)

I think the assumption was that a full tube cage on an SCX10 chassis was a turner as long as it met the requirements of front, cab and bed entirely made of tubes.

If they are saying it has to be all tube, I can't think of many that qualify other than the Wraith and I think even timber wolf's and wreckluse's even have flat bar or channel bar at their base that the skid is attached to.

If we want to redefine it, I would suggest you ask the rule committee, I would be happy to take credit for all the tube pieces instead of a flat score.

SCX10 with tube is a tuber. I have asked WarPig before.

But on a side note my JK and Mayhem are full tuber

There really aren't that many tube pieces. If it's not a tuber or a truggy you have the following "tube" areas...

Bed (Not available to tubers)
 Tube bed OR flatbed: metal -3, plastic -1
 Bed mounted headache rack or roll bar: metal -2 plastic -1
Interior cage or exo-cage (-3 metal -1 plastic)
 Per row of seats or area where seats would be (vehicle doesn't need an interior to get these points). Cage must have down bars and cross bars in front and behind each row. Not available to tubers.
Tube accessories
 Sliders: (both sides) metal -3, plastic -1
 Tube fenders: metal -1 (per pair)
 Integrated tube shock mounts: metal -1 (per pair)

I really gotta disagree with that, I really don't think it is. When I think of a tuber, I like jason, think more of the wraith. Just because someone takes a ladder frame and throws on rollbar tubing doesn't make it a tuber!

That is because you guys are looking at the rule only in your eyes. Every tuber has to have a base to start from. Why would it matter if you have a full ladder of just two small pieces at the center?

I'd say the Wraith and Southern Buggies are tubers... if it has a rail chassis, it's not a tumor... I mean it's not a tuber (In Arnold's voice).

Maybe... but I just don't see how a full ladder can be a tuber.

Read the rule:
Tuber: metal -8, plastic -4
A tuber consists of a complete body structure where the front, cab, and rear sections are comprised entirely of structural tubework.

Very clear Doesn't matter about ladder frame.

I see this no different from on to the next

My Rock Rider, Dinky and Fat Dog are tuber's.
I'm with Zero on this one. If it has a ladder chassis it's not a tumor (again as Arnold).

GET TO THA CHOPPER!

The first two trucks have roll cages on top of a ladder chassis. Can't really tell about the last one.

So to me they'd get

Interior cage -3
Sliders -3
Tube fenders -1 (at least for the first one)
roll bar -2

Doesn't really matter to me as long as we are consistent across the trucks that are basically build the same way.
