OK I started another truck. I sold all my rc10 old stuff. I only kept one trans. I am threw with 2wd stuff. Solid axles only now.

I picked up a Nice Titan body. Its way bigger than the Mini truck King Cab.

The plan:

* Tamiya TLT-1 solid axles, shocks, body posts, antenna mount and link ends.- acquired
* Parma 10127 Nissan Titan King Cab body. - acquired and painted
* Traxxas Rustler rear rims 2.2 - acquired
* Proline Moabs- on order
* 75turn integy lathe motor scm7501 - need, just put one in the D21
* Futaba ESC - - acquired
* LED headlights
* Links: 3/16 brake line and 4-40 threaded rod-- acquired
* Steel NissanNut ladder frame and bumpers, sliders etc. 1/2" flat stock 11 gauge.- building
* Team Associated RC10T2 full bearing trans - - acquired
* Traxxas emaxx driveshafts - need

The new clear Parma Titan lexan body is way bigger than the D21. I need to lenghten the wheelbase.

I am making this frame 3" instead of the 2" TLT size. I did allot of measuring of the other truck and it will work much beter.

I made 2 jigs this time to help keep my steel together while welding.

Drilled one hole, then bolted together. Then drilled another hole. Bolted together etc. Then I grind/sand the rails equal to each other. The bottom rail is TWO rails bolted together all drilled for link mounts.

This is my marker template on the table. I layed the Titan body down drew the wheel well centers and made my frame rails to match body lines.

I made a jig out of a 1.5 x 3 tube. Its the perfect size for placing the cross members above and below the frame rails.

This is going to be BIG. It looks good with the geolanders though.

Still deciding on moabs or imex red rock krawlers or swamp dogs.

nice work on the jigs! i'm going to need to do that for my next build. my escalade's frame came out a little, well, off... nice work though. looking forward to this build.

sweet jigs man ... are you arcing that or mig . and are the black jigs wood? whats the wheelbase gonna be?

"thumbsup"

Thanks. I use a 110v Lincoln wire feed with flux core wire. I need to convert to MIG. The balck is high heat header paint to minimize splatter.

Wheel base looks like 12.5-13". I am assembling the axles next. Just jb welded the diffs.

The jigs are all 1/8" tube steel scrap pieces I had laying around.

Thanks Guys.

I made the trans mount today. I had to modify the trans a bit to get it in there. There is 8mm of space between output and skid. The 6 gear is much better.

This thing is 3" longer than HardBody

I made some trans mounts for the stealth. One is 1" flat stock the other side is 3/4" flat stock. Both 11gauge.

Trans mount done.

Geos test fit.

I wanted something a little bigger and got some Moabs. Left frt is stock. left rear is mounted stock on stock rim. Right rear is half foam stock rim. Right front is narrow rim half foam.

I get the moabs on for a test. I played with the foam for a change. No foam in the the Hardbody yet. I chopped the foam in half.

Stock rims, half foam.

This is not the actual ride height. more pix here.... titan buildup

looks great. the only thing i see is that you need some wideners for the axles. i love the black and chrome."thumbsup"

Thanks. I love the chrome and black look also. Not sure if I am going to widen anything yet. It looks like a monster truck in that pic. When the body is lower it looks so real. The narrowed rims are ready to be mocked up. (glue dried). I will have to make the links and test them out.

Going to do a TLT style 4 link. But try a new mount style. Going to making a crossmember to mount the upper links together.

I finished the 16g shock towers. I made all 4 links 3" threaded rod.

I had to order a new diff. I jbwelded the original a little crooked.

finally got my bearings from hong kong via ebay.

I then decided to do a completely different 4 link design from stock. I moved all the brackets and made a new upper mount from 11gauge steel. It was too heavy so I made some 16g steel versions.

new light weight version.

I keep throwing the body on to check wheels line up in wheel wells. I had to enlarge the holes a little. Here is a great pic of stock tlt mounts and new style. No more rear steer. I am going to convert the D21.
4link_new_old.jpg

The body will be a little higher. Its not mounted yet. Just resting on the rails and towers.

Rolling chassis profile. I am missing 2 end links. So the frt end is on hold.

Waiting for nuts and bolts from nutty.com and 2 hitec 645 servos from tower.

Think I am going to try the gd600 on the Titan. I love the GRU on the D21.

I ordered some mtroniks esc's for both trucks. Cant wait to try those out. :D

Just waiting for the UPS man.

Thanks guys. I now have no rear steer. The first truck I built has MAJOR rear steer. Plus my first truck has all different lenght links. This truck will have all the same size links.

very cool dude. nice work. it's builds like this that make me want to build more RCs instead of throwing money into my 1:1...

Thanks. Here is a better pic of the front upper mount. I made it different than the rear. Just trying different bends. This is the first 16g one I made. (I had a typo on my website).

4link_uppermounts_done.jpg

The rear one I made taller.

4link_closeup.jpg

Which one looks better? snug or tall? I cant decide. ;)

Need to make 2 more for the other truck.
