I got a Super Rooster as part of a bunch of parts I had bought from a guy recently. Last night I finally got around to testing all the electric components I had recieved. He told me he had hit the setup button while it was turned on so I would need to set it up again. I followed the instructions(not all that hard) and when you hold the button down to enter setup mode, the light never flashes. It stays solid red the whole time. I've tried every way of transmitter on first, esc on first, different battery, different transmitter, different reciever. All the other esc's I got worked, so I get the feeling something's wrong with this one. Anyone have any ideas I haven't tried? Thanks for any help.

on mine some how my trim settings were out of wack so it wouldnt comply with what i was doing make sure your settings are at a neutral postion

Tanis: Yes disconnected as per the instructions.

77chevy4x4: I"ll check that. Although I did try it with two different radios with the same results.

KING BLING: Yes definately plugged into the correct port on the reciever.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'm gonna try the trim settings. If that's not it, I'm giving up on this one.

what radios are you using? You double check the polarity of how it is plugged in and try reversing the throttle channel on your radio?

A Hitec Aggressor AM 2 Ch
A Futaba MS AM 2 Ch

I did verify polarity of the wires, and did not try reversing the throttle yet.

Also, I am somewhat noobish on electronics. If you run two motors in series, does it double the amp draw on the esc? It occurs to me now that the prior owner was running two speed gem 13t motors in series, and I believe he was running 8.4 volts to it. Could this have anything to do with this?
