Saw a post in the Colorado section and reminded me I wanted a jet boat!

Picked This one up on ebay, Chinese knock-off of a Graupner jet sprint, for $50 shipped. I got the yellow one off amazon for $32 shipped.

Graupner, Wp Jet Sprint ,(2105) DISCO

Its a pretty basic unit stock

Then you just take a dremel and cut the hull open, I used a 1 1/2 cut off wheel, marked out the cuts and went at it.

I striped the hull, the electronics are held in with hot glue and the jet drive is screwed from the bottom and epoxied in place. It all peals off and cleans up fairly easy.

Next I modified the jet drive with this kit from http://sicrc.com/ , says it will greatly increase power, and reduce vibrations, wear and noise. Comes with a coupler(not pictured) and epoxied flex shaft/impeller with guide sleeve, stainless intake grates and a water pick-up tube. You can see all the detailed pictures of a modified NQD jet drive in his ebay ad: Modified Jet Unit for NQD Tear Into Jet Boat and Sicrc Jet Sprint 410 | eBay

I just used clear silicone to seal the jet drive in place, basically made a gasket. The outer ring with the steering boot separates, I installed that first, then put the jet drive in place.

Installed a Traxxas 1/16 vxl-3m 4000kv waterproof brushless system and traxxas waterproof servo 2080. The red thing on the motor is a silicone water cooling jacket(ebay-china$7shipped), it allows water to touch the motor and circulate around it and then blow it out the back! Its very effective.

I just used standard alum. servo mounts and screwed it in from the bottom. I used the stock steering rod with an align 450 rod end and a axial 25t plastic horn.

Hooked up my water cooling jacket, everythings fitted with 5/32 alum. tube

The ESC and Rx are all held in place with Velcro.

I also Velcro'd a battery strap in place, my packs all have vecro for my 450 heli, so they Velcro in and get strapped. Its money...

This foam tape seals the top of the hull really well, 100%.

The maiden voyage went very well!

Way to much fun...!
The dollar to fun ratio is very high. Its all brand new for under $200. The building of the boat was just as fun as ripping the thing on the water! I cant wait to get off work and go jam.
