I have a 1/6 Nylint crawler from when I was a kid, and I’m now trying to get it working again for my son. I lost the original controller, so am trying to find replacement options. Will a hobby grade one work, or do I need to just find an original?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Any Tx/RX will work, doubtful that anything matches what rx is there now
That said assuming that the speed controller has a separate rx

Hang up and Drive

It's toy grade. I wouldn't bother.
If it's a must expect to replace all the electronics. Including servos, as well as doing some custom fabrication.

Cheaper to buy a new bright from walmart.
