Official lowcountry Scaler trail and meet thread!!!!!

Next meet: Sunday DEC 30
Place: Summerville Crawlers place, Jedburg
Time:
All day planned
Conditions: Should be nice!

If you can/want to come out, let me know, and I can plan lunch for us. I plan on getting started my self around 1000.

Solid meet spots are listed below. If you know of a good place let me know and I will add it to the list. Were just getting this started so help the list grow!!! "thumbsup"

Northwood Church at Carnes
2600 North Main Street, Summerville, SC
Large unpaved path on the left just before the church, park at the Large dirt pile. Area can be as easy or difficult as driver wishes.

Bonneau Beach
boat landing area
Large rocks and rip rap, may be more when water is down

Menriv Park at Marrington
Off Redbank Road NWS Goose Creek
Google maps shows as Bluehouse rd
Trail head on right at entrance

Ion Swamp Trail at Francis Marion National Forest
Ion Swamp Road/Forest Sevice Road 228
Off Highway 17, Awendaw
Trail head is about 2.2 miles off Hwy 17 on left. parking for 4 to 5 vehicles no problem.
Combination of Wet/dry/grassy. Several tight paths off of main path offer many different terrains and challenges too. NOT recommended for non waterproof vehicle!

Santee State Park, Santee SC
Rocks, sand, dirt, and trails, along the lake at Santee. Great location for a camp and crawl!!!!

Awesome spot. Got the trucks ready for sunday. You ought to post up some of the pics and video you took. What time ya'll wanna meet this sunday?

This sunday is out for me. To much to do around house after being gone for a month, and birthday weekend for my youngest boy. Still have to do big time maintenance on trucks from uber heavy crawling in virginia!:mrgreen:

Thanks for the tip hb, have to check it out. Msmith you live up that way, wanna do a little scouting this week? I need to add menriv park at marrington as well, its hiking trail and seems to have some decent runs.

I'll head out there tomorrow and check it out. I know there is some hiking trails going out that way like swamp fox trail.

Yea go to Bonneau, when you can't go any further you are there. Spent plenty of time right at the end of the road when the lake is down is best, several different surfaces to try.

Got a wedding to goto. Leaving today and will be back sunday. Ill head out there when i get back. Dont know what time I'll be back.

If we get my ESC squared away and my wife can handle it, I should be there. You think my 3 and 4 year olds will be ok out there, Tracey?

Yeah they should be ok its pretty open out there as long as they stay away from the ponds. Full shoes cause there are ants out there. Its probly gonna get hot out there with no shade and alot of sandy dirt.

Yea. Bring lots of water and wear some cool clothes (shorts, short sleeve or tank tops). If you got a hatch like tracy does then it will provide some shade.

Sounds good. I'll bring 2 of the 3 little ones. Should be fun for them. I always bring tons of water everywhere, so no worries there. Any other advice for the terrain? This will be my first drive with my truck.
