I got out of the Army recently and I have been updating this truck because I found out it is very outdated and its ESC is on the fritz so I decided re-do her to update her to keep up with newer trucks on the course and add more scale detail while I am at it. I have learned this because as I was slowly creaping a brushless Wraith blew by my truck like it was standing still. This truck started out in 2009, so we'll start then. I bought an AX10 kit, X-Trail frame, Tekin 55t with FX-R, Axial Rockstars 2.2 beadlocks, Proline 2.2 Moabs, a Proline 1980 Chevrolet Blazer and a bunch of styrene to make a very scale lifted Chevrolet Blazer. I mounted the trans facing the oposite way because I had no interest in having water and dirt entering my motors end-bell, instead have the gears face the front. (This method worked out to my advantage with my current axle choice.

[/IMG] Had to cut out areas of tub so the spur gear would not touch the tub.
Sorry for the blurry pics, I had a flip phone at the time. Now into 2010 here we are... Front tub mount and sprayed with primer, everything is sanded down. Hole was drilled through the frame on both sides and a metal rod 4inches in length holds the body down.
Tub, styrene covers for trans.

Interior is painted black, another test fit before body tub is screwed to Blazer body.
A little personal detail to rear axle.
Destroyed plastic gears in HPI servo.
Now she's back up and running.
Because I went with the droop setup, it keeps down on ride height but keeps articulation.
Driving around in garage...
Reupholstering bench seat with Digital camo, because I'll be starting basic training in Ft. Benning GA in August 2010.
Made bench seat out of regular foam sheeting.
All cleaned up and pretty.
Just a little tease with Wheely King tires.
What the X-Trail chassis looks like up close with droop setup suspension.
Body off truck
Trans gears facing front of truck.
Cut windows out and here's the view inside. Scale shifters for trans and transcase.
Highlift jack from Proline.
Traxxas Driveshafts
Cutting front frame rails off to the shock towers to reduce getting caught up on things.
Gone!
Ok, now it's late Dec 2010. I just graduated Infantry basic training and I am home on leave before I go my first unit in Ft. Drum NY. I ordered Proline Racing Super Swamper SX 2.2's to get more of a scale look and bigger tires.
Here is the back of the trucks interior, spare tire mount, jerk-strap, gas, cargo net and whip antenna.
Here's a little offroading up at my duty station in Ft. Drum NY.
Ok, Now we are up to current date. I got out of the service in July so its time to update. She had a few years of neglect that I just didn't have time for it. The new installment is Axial Wraith axles which are way wider than AX10 axles, also lowered the body onto the frame 3/4 inch so it didn't look like it had a massive body lift but thanks to how the shocks mount on Wraith axles I ended up with more ground clearance under the transmission. A lot of cutting in the body had to happen to do so. I used Wraith upper links and slightly lengthened the lower links to achieve the proper wheelbase with out binding with a 4 link suspension. An RC4WD bumper from a buddy was added as-well.
Next to my SCX10 so you can really see the width change.
Underneath rear, I really need to get a camera or something.
Here's all the cutting I had to do in order to lower the body down.
Adding Styrene to redo floor.
Starting on fire wall.
